Carson and Leno were LEGENDS. (I also dug Letterman) After Leno and Letterman were no longer on their respective shows, I quit watching the late night shows. They just weren't FUNNY anymore. I also have not bothered with "SNL" since Norm left.

There is a very logical reason for why this is. The networks and their owners are using these shows to push political agendas. They could care less about your enjoyment for real comedians.

I was a Letterman guy, but I would often flip over to Jay for headlines. The one that sticks in my mind is when a police department was looking for a "Leno-like" burglar, using an artist's rendering of Jay in a stocking hat and with a mustache. They cut from the newspaper to Jay in studio, dressed as the burglar and looking around suspiciously.

The funniest stuff I've ever seen is Jay reading headlines and add plus Rodney Dangerfield jokes. I laugh like hell and all the other stuff just makes me grin.

@5:05 It looks like the editor forgot to make sure that the photo was properly flipped so that the driver was on the appropriate side of the road for the U.S. and Canada. The picture would actually work, just as it is, in Japan, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand. 😁

dinosaurs: the Memphis Appeal actually had the headline about the dinosaurs--daddy showed it to me. they did a "Zoo" with dinosaurs, and many customers wanted their money back because "the dinosaurs weren't real". there are actually people in Memphis that stupid. it made headlines in mississippi and arkansas, too.

@@sandywheeze3505 I haven't seen them in years either because I live in rural Missouri where the only fish available is salmon or talipia, unless you catch them yourself. Fresh caught trout is wonderful. I used to get halibut steaks when I lived in a metropolitan area. It was good as I remember--45 years ago.

Years ago before retiring I was a Mental Health Therapist. I worked on a mental health ward for Male sexual predators. I swear that word always smelled like ass. It was a joke with the staff. I found some lotion called “Crack Cream”. I bought it and took it to work. Everyone laughed and it became a joke on the ward

Skitch Henderson, Parr, Carson, Leno, Letterman......there was comedy gold there. I recall as a kid in the 1950s hearing my dad roar with laughter from my bedroom......and me wishing I was old enough to be out there. Now I'm almost 75....and the old legacy networks of CBS NBC ABC are today filled with vicious, hate filled unfunny gorps with a political agenda they jam down the viewers throat with a funnel and a ramrod. Thank God for alternate avenues of entertainment.....like YT.

The key to comedy is anticipation and expectations. Things are funny when our brain has certain expectations about the world, so that we all come to anticipate what comes next, then the comedian makes the punch line that is not what we anticipated, this surprises us and we laugh. The reason why you don’t find “woke” (your word not mine) comedy funny, is that you are living in a different reality than the rest of the audience who does find it funny. I don’t blame you, many people have been misled, but a few facts. Earth=Round/4.6Billion years old Sex is not a binary phenotype and is definitely not a binary genotype .: gender is not binary. Everyone has pronouns, they are part of the English language. I hope this helps you learn to enjoy comedy again. Facts matter .
