Travel to northern Vermont, at the edge of Canada, and explore the place in New England that has some of the most consistent - and some of the most challenging - skiing in the region. (Originally aired in 2022)
Was at Jay last weekend when the power outage happened along with the wind holds. Big thank you for compliementing Saturday guest with a snow check. Is why I travel from Canada to this mountain as customer service is top notch.
Too bad didn't have good time last time family vacation over there. Not very Friendly for family with kids and beginners. Kids school starts the same time as adult, and in a different location, couldn't figure out how to make it work for adult beginner. A week over there, kids loved it. Yet, as a parent, i didn't get over the bunny hill, and i learned skiing in other mountains. Okemo is much more friendly place for beginners.
I love Jay Peak but it's probably best for hardy souls that love the mountains and know how to ride them. Okemo is wonderful for beginners and intermediates.
Jay and Stowe are pretty comparable honestly Jay is far cheaper but Stowe has access to the best backcountry in VT and has more lodging. The actually terrain is comparable but Jay has more glades and Stowe has more cut runs. Overall I give Jay the edge just because of the insane snowfall and its value.
