TesseracT is one of those rare bands in which you first learn bassist and drummer´s name rather than guitarrists.

My best friend said prior to the birth of his child “Man, he’s gonna be such a smart kid... he’s gonna be so smart he’ll be able to comprehend Jay Postones drumming.” And it’s videos like this that remind me of how wonderful a compliment that really is.

I’d love to be popular enough that this is what’s considered no space to play on. The stage I played on last week was about just enough for everyone to stand right next to each other and stay perfectly still as to not fall off or crash into each other. Some of the biggest spaces I’ve had are about the size of the stage TesseracT is playing on here, if that were every show I’d count myself lucky. Not trying to be negative, and in comparison to stadium rockers this is small, but I just felt like relaying some personal experience.

As usual, a flawless performance from Jay and TesseracT in general. Just curious though, what's that little square on the snare drum? You see it at about 3:41. I've seen a couple of drummers with them now and I'm not sure what they're for. (Should point out I'm not a drummer obviously lol).

A lot of people don't move during concerts, why? They may be like me where they'll bop their head, tap their foot, etc. We like to listen/watch. Not go crazy all the time. This isn't really a jumpy/headbanging band. I pay to watch the band not run in circles and push people.

Nicholas McCaslin I believe that was when they opened for Gojira in the US this year, and Gojira crowd came out in DROVES and overwhelmingly cared little about Tesseract, which was a huge shame. I was right up front and saw zero people all the way across singing along or even into the songs like they knew them. (Which they probsbly didn't). It was real awkward, but they still played a great show, and Dan knocked it out of the park.

1:54 to 2:00. That right there folks is one sexy fill. Also Oh and don't forget... the paradiddlediddle part or whatever he adds a little before the "wake me up" part. (That he changed from the original part). That one's probably easy to do but the part is KILLER right there! Jay is my all time FAVORITE!!!! SERIOUSLY BEST DUDE EVER. HUMBLE like no other too. Funk SC I would also assume that to sing in a band like this, takes a certain level of finesse and ability to find where the harmonies would work best. If you notice, many other progressive metal bands are strictly instrumental for this reason. I'm not saying that this is the definite reason, but I'm assuming so.

That's not really true. I think it goes both ways. You won't appreciate Dan's vocals as much if you don't sing, either. Dan is the best vocalist I've ever heard.
