Jay, son of Jafar, is a smooth talker, a “tough guy” who is ready to steal everything that isn’t bolted to the ground. With his charm and good lucks, he’s ready to con and fight in hopes of making his father proud; in short he’s a dirty no good who is bad to the bone, but what made him this way?

Jay is the human embodiment of "looks like he can kill you but is actually a cinnamon roll." He was always so much better than the Isle.

I like that. And it describes him perfectly. He tries to be a tough guy, but he has a very sweet heart. Like in the second movie when they are comforting Mal after returning from the Isle.....he doesn't say much initially, but when its just him and Mal, he comforts her. And then when King Ben is dancing with Uma, all of her friends rally around her, but he is the one to take her away to spare her the pain and humiliation. Probably why I like him more than Ben. lol .

@@CeltycSparrow Gotta agree with you guys. Me and my friends even have this thought that if in any way (though quite impossible), Mal and Ben didn't work out, Jay would be the perfect guy for her. I know they treat each other as family, but again that's just a thought.

I really do admire Jay's love for his father despite Jafar's toxic way of raising him. The most idealistic happy ending would be for Jafar to let go of his revenge, breaks down his barriers, and returns that love to his son but sadly, people seldom change from bad habits and ideology.

@@IcyDiamond no it doesn't show any signs of any of them being genies so it not canon as far as I know however even if jafar loses his magic there could still be a chance in what ever magic lingered in jafar still transferred to jay which could be why when he nudged chad in descendants one it hurt chad (like it made him lightly sore) and he hadn't done it that hard

There is one theory that Jay's parents are actually Aladdin and Jasmine and Jafar kidnapped Jay since he was a baby and Jafar decided to adopt Jay

It’s not just Jay if you pay close attention to the other VKs including and beyond the foursome you’ll realize that most of them display characteristics similar to their parents’ good counterparts. Carlos is fun loving, loyal and mischievous, plus he wears red, white, and black just like the male Dalmatian puppies, Evie is loving, good at house work, and wants desperately to fall in love, like Snow White. Uma wants freedom, is rather rebellious and brave, but is caring towards her friends like Ariel, and Harry is way off kilter, mischievous, and looks at life as a game like Peter Pan.

Jay and Carlos are definitely my favorite characters from both Descendants and Descendants 2. Mainly Jay cuz he's not such a bad guy. He just wants to make his dad proud.

It seems like Mal has gone through a long line of partners in crime. First Mad Maddie, then Uma, I don't think her friendship with Jay Would have lasted had they not met Evie and Carlos and the events of the Isle of the Lost not taken place. After getting the Dragon Scepter I think that that was when Mal decided that she would keep these guys around

Did jafar care about Jay in a roundabout way? He basically turned jay into an Aladdin-clone, making him a better person then his father. That's not saying jafar was a good father (he sucks, bad) but he isn't the worst if the villain parents.

While the VK's are obviously innocent and don't deverse unless to visit but not stay, they were just into a bad 👎 family, their parents on other the hand are actually dangerous criminals that deserve to be there unlike there kids. The kids need to need to get out and visit the isle, but definitely not stay there, there actually stay there where they belong.
