Truth has been spoken. To appreciate this level of gears, ones has to went through far journey . I stick to my Boulder 2100 series and the rest of its, because I been through some of the super high audio gears, then I finally found the one that suited me the most. I appreciate , I am a lucky one to went through many gears over the years, and finally now I stick to the one I been searched for. Cheers
Very nice machine!! But MSRP is out of this world and power plug (30 amp) is unique...not so usable with different pc‘s. And ...Very good and honest recommendations at the end of this video 👍🏼

Yes, what you're saying makes sense and sometimes the last 10% of performance upgrade is the most important. It's what gets the system over the finish-line. The audio business for sure knows this and makes us pay ;)
Love these review videos! Would love to hear your take on the Diablo 300 and also the Magico A5. Wondering how a Magico A5 / Gryphon Diablo 300 and Mola Mola Tambaqui combo would sound. Those three seem like good bang for the buck options (If bang for the buck means over $40K of audio products - but in this hobby its all relative).

Auditioned Boulders many times in the past. They are to my ears completely and utterly overrated. It is true, I can agree that they are quiet, fast and dynamic but they are never worth the money they ask for them. And I think you have backed up my sentiments nicely with this video. I think for a few points in your specific rating system you have had much better value in high-end audio gear already. Lastly because I am publicly commenting, I want others to understand that I do think that Boulder's are built like tanks and sound great, but I am afraid there are so many other brands out there that are just as sonically great or better for much less.
Think you’re absolutely right. At this high(est) level of audio gear it comes down to your personal taste and SYSTEM SYNERGY. And the MSRP in this case here (Boulder) is absolutely insane and by far doesn’t represent the additional sound quality any more....as Jay admitted and said at the end of this video. This tendency for higher and higher prices started after the financial crises about 12 years ago when central banks flooded the world with money. And as many customers make a connection in their mind between MSRP and actual sound and build quality some manufacturers started to ride this horse excessively...
@@audiohertz2341 Thanks AH for that 'special' yet snarky and extremely brief comment. I will reiterate that I find Boulder's amps unrepresentative of their value. In fact there is another manufacturer that designs amps with a sonically extremely similar sound quality in their quickness, exactness, blackness and dryness. The only problem is that the other company's amps are also built like tanks and are at least 70K less for what I find indistinguishable sound quality. As with most people here, over the last $30+ years I have had so many different amps, etc., and at some point (besides from speakers) this industry got out of hand. Where does that leave my thoughts? Boulder makes extremely good equipment. But they are ridiculously priced for their value, even if you like their sound. (as noted in Jay's video) Although many people don't prefer the Boulder sound because they are a little on the dry side compared to other gear. (but that is their goal... exactness) But for me I happen to like their sound. Regardless these types of arguments at this level of equipment aren't even about quality of sound any longer but preference of sound. Go ahead now, blast me for not naming names.
@@audiohertz2341 ...if James would have named „the other brand“ which he is convinced sounds very similar to Boulder it would only lead to one more of these inevitable and annoying and endless discussions as probably you or some others would deny his opinion on that. And as opinions almost always can’t be changed.... So, I suggest you do your „research“ for yourself and find the amps/ brand that suits your tastes and the rest of your system the most. Don’t forget: this hobby is a JOURNEY (like Life itself). Wish you great findings.
@@VideoArchiveGuy yeah, it’s always a matter of weighing up...but like in real life as well as in audio: the biggest and therefore the most expensive things often times aren’t really the best. Maybe on paper or in the manufacturers brochure

They are not worth the price, I prefer an Audionet Heseinberg or Pilium Hercules (new reference from Alon Wolf, the guy who designed your M6 and the new M9) at a fraction of the price, I would only buy something from the 3000 series.
