I may get blocked for this but here goes. Anything that charges $7500 per term for “wellness” and “healing” doesn’t sit right. This is part of the whole “Wellness Industrial Complex” which has hijacked spirituality and wellness. Therapists and Trained psychiatrists are scientifically backed by research. He also lent credence to Gwyneth Paltrow’s pseudoscientific “Goop”. This is similar to the “DEI Industrial Complex” where Diversity and Inclusion has been hijacked by corporations to cynically split people along racial lines. I believe in Diversity of ideas but the DEI movement seems to be a scam.

Lets be little bit objective. If we talk a bout objectivity. It can be said about all of us..... nobody is perfect personality, because all of us grew in imperfect circumstances. So in adulthood we try to unlearn bad habits that we somehow learned in childhood, unknowingly, as Dr. Bruce Liipton explains, all our behaior as adults comes from the age 0 to 7, when the subconscious mind of the child was created and therefore was programable in some way. so if we learned wrong stuff at such young age, it continues to age 35, without even realizing it, because 99 percent of habits are subconscious. When we fuinally realize these habits in adulthood, we want to change ita nd live differently in more loving way and more naturally, happily. Most kids learn wrong info because they are not self-aware or their brain is not capable yet to translate the info in right way or in objective ways. So throwing all our frustration and judgment on one person wouldnt be fair, because nobody of us grew up so perfectly with perfect habits, and science says these habits continue to adulthood, subconsciously, without our awareness of having them. Its 80 percent of planet like that and you have to watch dr. Bruce Lipton or Dr. Joe Dispenza to really understand the meaning of subconscious programs, habits, perception and the energy.

Not sure if someone with an Indian background can be accused of cultural appropriation but this certainly feels like a textbook candidate. Reminds me of those other ‘gurus’ and ‘spiritual leaders’ who spend more time doing marketing and making money than actually practicing their religion or meditating etc. Also reminds me of those fake Shaolin monks, but at least those shaves their head and wear the robes - if you’re gonna fake you might as well go the whole hog right? 😆

The entire basis of the thinking is humble, and based on the abandonment of ego and earthly gains. Materialism and marketing are the opposite of this. @@thecoconutculture"Attachment" is not a field let alone therapeutic. And there is no real accreditation nor certification in "attachment". "Attachment" is a concept based upon theories & mostly anecdotal information (ie personal testimonies). This concept is a behavioural element which upon further exploration revealed "Attachment styles" +,patterns of attachment) which offer some potentially helpful ways of understanding one's relational & interpersonal behaviors. Therapists, counsellors ... books, videos on the subject may help someone understand themselves & others better by exploring the concept of attachment & their attachment styles. Many people mistake attachment for love. Also, Neuroscience isn't a therapeutic practice. It is a branch of psychology that is research-based information & knowledge. Some therapeutic practices, techniques / methods have been developed based upon neuroscience theories. A lot of online RU-vidrs claim their approach is based upon neuroscience. Not all claims are true. Some are false claims. That said, it doesn't mean that their approach and / advice is not helpful & even therapeutic. People use a lot of trendy catch-phrases to win subscribers. It works! People truly on the path of healing & personal understanding & growth will hopefully eventually be able to distinguish truth from falsehoods and gravitate towards what truly helps.

I went to his Diary of a CEO Live show in London and it was a complete ego-fest, and by the end of the show I felt sick to my stomach while people were up in their seats clapping and calling out. Blew my mind. They both have dead eyes with a fake sincerity that fools a lot of people - it actually helped me to realise people are more vulnerable than they realise, and somehow turn to goo in front of both of them, because they are highly skilled at working out what a person's buttons are and how to push them for 'content' ie a multitude of narcissistic supply and of course millions of dollars/pounds. Really glad to see other people see this too, has felt quite isolating not seeing other people call this out. Thank you again!

My immediate feelling was just that I didnt trust him, and his interviews felt superficial and trite anyway. I was like no way this dude was an actual monk. Never read his books or listened to his podcast... Steven Barlett on the other hand: I was REALLY into his podcast and him as a public personality but then, I started to question if he was interjecting "vulnerability" as a marketing ploy. I dont know how to explain it any better. But I stopped listening to his podcast since... Interesting to hear your gut feeling on him after going to one of his events. Thanks for putting your opinion out there

If you know that you can trust your judgment, and that no one can gaslight you into believing lies, then your body will always guide you, even before your brain can, and WAY before you’re presented with concrete, tangible evidence as to their wrongdoings. I’m a thinker-type, and never knew to trust my gut, or any of the other bodily sensations I experienced in the presence of a toxic person (i.e., anyone on the narcissistic spectrum). Your body is ALWAYS right-and it’s not a good idea to stick around until you have “real” proof of who they are-if you know what to look/sense for, there are always early warning signs-it’s a shame this isn’t part of our “education” in school, growing up. Of course, we understand that it’s all by design, since controlling the masses into believing in their own helplessness is conducive to creating & maintaining an oligarchical class. Be committed to never making the same mistake twice, and as you may have heard before, ALWAYS BELIEVE PEOPLE WHEN THEY SHOW YOU WHO THEY ARE-never give them the benefit of the doubt.

He started out authentic but began riding the wave of his alleged monk life as if it was something, he had lived for years and started cashing in the big bucks. When I saw him with the Smiths, I knew that he is well on his way to be a fraud. Why? Because birds of a feather, flock together. I absolutely hate that he leaves his wife alone for months on end to travel around the world; she's out there dancing on Instagram and selling tea increasingly (and, when they are together, they behave like brother and sister because they've lost the connection). She's very much becoming another online lonely woman. I now see Jay as a fraud who has sold his soul for fame. Also, he is beautiful which has helped him immensely.

Without sounding judgemental, you hv put out the facts in a rational manner. Via this comment, I would like to appeal to all the naive social media influencers who hv gotten into the space of spiritual advice (especially based on Hindu dharma and Hindu philosophical traditions and systems like Vedanta, yoga, ayurveda etc) that these are sacred sciences to be taught strictly in the realm of guru-shishya parampara. They are not meant to be either given our or consumed in the pop culture fashion. These sciences are formulaic in nature and a foremost requisite for teachers is humility and simplicity along with lack of any kind of desire either for material gains, fame or power while for student, eligibility and dedication towards the knowledge. In absence of these, one is showing utter disrespect for these knowledge systems and accrues negative karma. I feel sad for the uninformed who are picking up nuggets of information from here and there and dispensing it randomly to anyone hitting their channel just out of sheer greed for publicity, revenue or popularity. They need to understand that this knowledge is sacred and extremely potent and can destroy anyone not following its basic tenets. Iam not surprised by what has come upon Jay Shetty for monetising and commercialising his fake monkhood. You don’t go around playing with fire thinking u won’t be burnt. Even naïveté cannot save one from it. Hope good sense prevails amongst the RU-vidrs and also the guests who come into the social media space in order to become richer, popular and famous (the very factors that true spiritual knowledge liberated you from).
