@@davestewart1656 the band is playing the song faster than the album version, a lot of bands do that live. The video or audio is not sped up. He's talking about the production quality, it's probably so high because it's ripped straight from the soundboard.

Maybe, but this seems to me like Jay is playing and being his channel I'd trust that his representation - as a standard for playback speed - makes this a 'straight live recording' while the surrounding events can be possibly 'reinterpreted by the camera lense or something

Steve earle? This is just insane! My older brother used to love Afghan Whigs I always remembered loving the song debonair. Anyway as I got older I really got into your band. Anyway 20 years later I'm a session player and I was literally two days ago chilling after a session with the engineer just burned out from tracking doubling and tripling Rhythm tracks. He mentioned that the artist wanted a sound like the cure for a guitar part that he was wondering what to use to set up for gear the next day. I said bro do you remember Afghan whigs? He start laughing he's like dude I f****** loved Afghan whigs! Anyway long story even longer LOL we got the file for Debonair and end up working all night emulating that exact guitar lead line sound with amplifiers instead of using amp Sims. Sorry so so long dude but I am such a huge fan . You literally played on one of my favorite rock songs ever hope you're doing well brother!

@@codebreaker5824 You seem to be referring to in-ear monitoring. That is present indeed. I'm talking about not playing to a metronome, but keeping the tempo completly themselves. Which is a good thing and becoming rare.

⁠@@PaddyFullyRandomnah. He’s definitely got a metronome in his in ears 100%. Nothing wrong with that at all. It just allows them to plan their entire show accurately and ensures that adrenaline doesn’t knock 5-10 minutes off their set. Also, there are triggers on the bass drum. Nothing wrong with that either for a show that will be uploaded over 1000 times to RU-vid, so it has to sound perfect.

Jay was on the Downbeat podcast and said they don’t use click tracks live.
