Vouchers are the cheapest way to educate children. It bypasses pension program for teachers which are very expensive. It isn't about helping the children.

This is disappointing. I’m a mom to 4, living in Tx. We have been fighting the voucher program here for years. I actively speak out against it despite having to pay for private school for two special needs students (the school district here is horrendous for special needs children). I support states that out limits in the voucher (such as using for kids who are unable to get services at their home school) but for everyone??? It’s just a ploy to defund public education and funnel money to religious schools (who are more often than not the ones who benefit the most from voucher programs) where they can teach all the hate they want and exclude others making it whatever kind of campus they want. Guaranteed the kids who need it most, will not get it.

Tisha this is so true I didn't know how it worked but when I went to see other options for my children to attend rather than the local public schools here I was informed that the government had to write us a check and I would give it to the private school of our choice for them to attend. That's how it would be possible for my kids to attend a private school without it coming out of my pocket.

The public school system sucks and is permanently broken and no amount of money will change this. Something needs to be done and the money should follow the child not be given to the schools. If the school is bad then should have the option to go to another school. And this can help. Lastly parents need to get more involved and not expect the school to raise your kids or educate them.
