That's called Racism...this.myth of western superiority was used to justify colonialism and atrocious enslavement of people. Understand the propaganda of this Scammer.
I agree that tribalism, superstition and lack of education has hindered progress in other world countries. Colonization which is built on a foundation of racism and oppression is definitely not the answer either. The psychologist and societal debris left by human inhumanity to others will always have a detrimental and chilling effect on these societies long after colonization has ended.
If there is a world leader of some sort, the crown should go to Jayant. He has the best clear real analysis of what the situation in "developing" countries are really like.
In conclusion, he wants re colonization of the third world countries. Because, he believes only European people can manage others affairs. On one hand, he says people living in third world countries are superstitious, while he himself quite firmly believes in the superiority of Europeans. ( I smell hypocrisy) Ps- i think he's a short seller.
"these people are steeped in magical thinking". I don't think there can be a more accurate description of 98% of the Sub-Saharan African people,.(and many in N.Africa also). I travel to West Africa frequently, and collect the tribal arts of many of the groups in Ghana, Nigeria, etc, and I love the people. They can be very kind, helpful, and generous, but under the surface, there is a deep (reaching back thousands of years) well of superstition and fear. Of course, I find it fascinating from a anthropological standpoint, but it has retarded the evolution of the continent, sadly.
You really understand us, my brother,we are highly superstitious. It's hard to innovate, every little business achievement and success are link to spirituality.no critical thinking & reasoning.these are big drawback.some of us are working on changing that.
I don't like. How, he represent a continent and some other countries. However, he is explain the reality of those countries. And I can't deny that he is right.
Thank you for watching we have conducted several interview with Mr. Bhandari since this interview. A good distinction you are able to make is the difference between emotions and empirical evidence and I commend you for that. I read Keith Richburg's Out of America several years ago. Richburg was a black man from Detroit who covered the civil war in Rwanda. He once said (if I remember the quote correctly) that the Hutus resented the Tutsis not just because they were more successful than them in the political, economic, and social spheres but because their bodily figures were taller, more slender, and more graceful than the typical Hutu, which resembled the stereotypical fat Africa pygmy. When the Hutus used their machetes to hack apart the Tutsis, it was as though they were slashing at a thing of beauty they could never achieve.
This is absolute and complete nonsense. The difference between Hutu and Tutsi are economic and class difference in nature and not racial. It is often difficult to determine who is Hutu or who is Tutsi by appearance. Maybe you should read more than one book to really understand.
@@corazoncubano5372 well he also lied . The difference between hutus and tutsi is being created by belgians on basis of longer hieghts and slimmer noses
Great intellectual rebuttal. By giving him the ol personal attack. Way to go! Now onto the tough part, do yku have any comments that refute his commentary?
China’s BRI projects is bad Here is why I think 1The BRI funds projects without necessarily looking at projects feasibility that could end up bad for economy 2 Has he mentioned there are only Chinese workers working so the African are not getting jobs from these projects as expected 3 the Chinese don’t share there technology with Africa which means to maintain the infrastructure they also need Chinese help
Since this is already a political incorrect topic, I am going to give some politically incorrect opinions. If local workers are capable and willing to do the hard work required, they will be hired by the Chinese contractors. The Chinese are there for profit, not charity. Today even if the Chinese want to transfer technologies, the locals are not ready to receive. Nowadays there are many Africans studying STEM in Chinese universities, if they are willing to go back to Africa after their study, that will lay the foundation for technology transfer and training of the local workforce.

Open free trade, end subsidies in developed countries. A big tide will lift all boats. He's brutally honest. Some countries that were shit hole are upper middle income like RSA, Botswana, Morocco. Some are on the verge of change like Ghana, Kenya.

Jera Matth What history, Africa has not developed independently a written language let alone recorded their history prior to western intervention. Up to the age of colonialism the African continent has maintained and stagnated at a human development comparable to Palaeolithic times in other words they were hunter gatherers and yet to have civilised themselves.
@@richud3404 Ethiopia has tribalism define the politics. It is a shaky unification of different cultures that can fracture at any moment. Ethiopia has about, if I remember correctly, about a 12 or more official languages. Tribalism usually involves conflict and Ethiopia is no exception.
This guy does smoke something strong before he goes on these interviews. I listened to his interviews about India and he literally called Indians extremely poor, uncivilized tribal barbarians who need Europeans for their survival. I also like how he chooses what to say to support his views and literally ignores improvements or anything that does not support his views and aims. You see, academia and intellectualism is filled with dishonesty, you choose your subject and stick to it to the end, another scholar can choose run with the opposing view point and stick to it with all the necessary points and data and still be truthful. Such analysis from this guy are not just unbalanced but I consider them as academic dishonesty.
Justapox to his expertise in business, he possesses awfully poor understanding of the history of civilizations. While interpreting the people and history of India, he is yet confined to James Mill. Even while portraying the relevance of century old brute colonial administration, he is a bit louder than Nirad C. Chaudhury.
Jayant is right, the issue in Africa and all the Third World countries being in big trouble, while East Asia is an exception, however he is wrong about the cause, which is really the low level of fear in Third World and Extremely high level of fear in East Asia, that is the key issue, see a simple latest video on the topic, which compares the fear between Filipinos and East Asians, its very easy to see from this video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Aos3u416DnQ.html
The poor believe in "magical thinking" because a lot about their life depends on things they can control less than a person in power. This applies to all societies where poverty and life in general is harder. Bhandari is speaking the present reality correctly, but his analysis from history is wrong, and to say these countries are beyond repair is wrong as well. If Bhandari lived in 1400s he would have said Europe is beyond repair. It goes to say how much things change actually. He hasn't read history. Poverty is the least worst thing a culture experiences after being under a foreign rule for decades or centuries. The most worst thing is being made to believe that you are nothing -- your origins, your culture, your skin, your everything. And let's admit it, foreign rule did that. And you would think being told that should awaken a nation, and it does in some cases like China, but in other cases it can complete drag them to living like this when the world expects them to conform to an idea like say nationalism. There is more than one good way to conduct a society, and when countries got exploited they were forced to conform because they are forced to forget anything that existed about their past. Just like generational wealth, generational memory vanishes, and they have to invent things like Kwanzaa to feel a common cultural bond. Many of these countries can do great if their leadership took great things from their past, and made a study of it on how they can reform it to the current world. Europe did that in the 1400s. It's harder to do it today because guess who's putting embargos, trying regime changes, and proliferating arms into these already struggling countries -- the very countries Bhandari is praising.
@@NiloNova No excuse, the story of every country is different. Jayant Bhandari 's analysis is poor. To say India is beyond repair when India is actually doing better and better each day is incorrect analysis.
I don't agree with some of the sweeping generalisation he is making about a country and it's people. He seems to forget that Europeans who colonised these African countries plundered the nation's resources and exploited it's people for their own monetary gains.
Consider the implications. Why didn't Africans plunder and exploit Europeans? Because they were nicer people or because they were not advanced enough to do so? The byproduct of colonialism is Europeans brought modern concepts to Africa. Despite that, even today, Africa has plenty of natural resources. To blame all the problems of Africa on Europeans is an excuse, not an adequate answer.
Democracy only works for educated first world countries. Democracy for a billion uneducated Africans will mean mob rule. It's called tyranny of the majority. If the majority votes for slavery, take away rights of an ethnic minority or suppress a certain religion then it would all be legal under Democracy/Mob rules.
So what u're saying is that educated people can't vote for slavery, you're wrong, the more educated societies are the ones who did more slave trade in the past, say USA, Europe, etc. We should probably take democracy away from USA because it may vote for slavery in 2020 elections, that sounds right. What democracy achieves is having new leaders each time, each with new development ideas every few years, and that's how countries developed. Much different than being forever stuck with a useless corrupt African idiot who never went to school but took power by force
@@mattdathew2794 Lmao, are you on glue? Europeans did not pluck Africans from the jungle. Their fellow Africans enslaved them & marched them to coastal trading ports (10 million died along the way) to sell to Europeans. Do not forget that Africans are also guilty for slavery.
He owes his education to democracy in India. Yet he garbles up things without data or research. He is a China supporter but will prefer any of these third world country to China if given an option for his next assigment.
That's what most Indian said - whenever anyone who said anything positive about China , they will call them China supporter or paid by China. That's call ' irrational '. He is right !!!
India owes the British for their secularized democracy and Western education. It is the British who brought democracy, secularization, and modern education to India.
