Quint: "Jason, why did you give your dad a hug?" Jason's answer: "well, he was sitting right there so I jumped up. He's stuck with me through my entire wrestling career and it means a lot." Jason's actual thought: "uh, are you f$#@n' kiddin me, dude?" "Because he's my dad and I just won a national title in a thrilling fashion."

This continues to be one of my favorite matches to watch. Btw, the description is incorrect. Ness didn't get a last-second pin; he got a last-second take down with 2 back points.

He was definitely pinned. Ref was nowhere. Unless I somehow don't understand the rules and the ref was thinking nobody was in control.
@michaeltamillow9722

@@VanishedPNW yeah, that was 5 points that went uncalled.
@aA-pe2sq
@aA-pe2sq 2 года назад
@@michaeltamillow9722 I don’t think either wrestler had control, the ref would’ve called 2 for the takedown. And if you’ve wrestled you know being in that position it could go either way and no one had control yet

Probably what people don’t appreciate about this match unless you’ve reffed the sport - amazing job by the official staying in position all the way to the mat on the takedown at the end to see the back exposure to count 2 near fall. Remarkable stuff

While I think Jayson Ness is the better wrestler, I am a little upset that Dennis didn’t win. First, I’m a Hawkeye fan. Second, I do like upsets. You can see in Dennis’s face whenever the match is over, he was upset that the match was right there and it slipped away from him at the last second. I really feel for him

Man Dennis is a small 133 or ness is a huge 33
@AndrewRKline

Ness was a huge 133. He has super long limbs but still had the sheer strength you see in more compact wrestlers. The only 133 that I can think of that could’ve been bigger was Nick Simmons of Michigan st.
