Beyoncé’s version sounds like she’s hurt from the resentment and I feel like jazmine sullivan is explaining the hurt to her lover after healing from the hurt and moving in emotionally from him
That’s why it’s two different emotions you hit it right on the head people only listening to the voices which both have great voices but singing the song with two different emotions
I love this version, it speaks to more because if you listen to the lyrics, this song is about resentment for her partner cheating, she talking about knowing he changed, so its after the fact, so the way she sings it, is from a stage were she past being overly emotional and angry but instead she is emotional drained and tired ,so for me its ok she didn't sing it with so much emotion, it like when someone says there disappointed in you vs when someone shouts at you. i feel like thats how jazmine version gets to me more.
This is from Jazmines work before she released an actual album. When she was underground. She did a few mixtapes. I have them. I can send them them if you’ve never heard them
2023 and this still speaks to my soul… I’m definitely a 🐝 Beehive but Jasmine #killed this song! Been a Sullivan fab since Bust Windows 😂😂 Heax was the best album 💿
i do agree with kiedanae i believe beyonce had more emotion, like when she was screaming it u could feel that he cheated on her, and this version just gives me goosebumps with her runs....both equally astounding versions.. :)
Feels so strange without the chorus from B’s version, but this is a great cover of the song. This song has a really interesting history from Victoria’s early version to B’s most recent live renditions where she keeps calling the mistress different names.
this isn't a cover. i think Jazmine sang this song first in America ---but couldn't get her record label to move forward so Beyonce purchased the song. But this was def. during the Napster era... so we all heard her version a year before Bday even came out.
@@healmyrootsit's not right to call them covers but versions. Victoria recorded it first but she never released it officially, then Jazmine and same case. Beyoncé was the last but she managed to release the song officially on B'day. Also they all changed things, so they're versions not covers
They both sang this song well but you cant really compare becuz they have two different styles, beyonce' is more pop/r&b and jazmine is more neo soul/jazz but they both tore it up if you ask me....
i head this version before Beyonce's version came out. I agree with the person that one feels like they are still going through the pain... while the other feels like they got through it and explaining why she can't go back .
- I think Jazmine Sullivan should focus on powerful songs because thats what she is good at. I love the power in her voice, it provides inspiration...instead of singing all those soft songs and those bubbly...something inbetween would be grand =]
If you want just good singing go to the Beyoncè version. But if so happen you like good, soulful, and skillfully emotional vocals Jazmine is ya girl. Get into her and into this version.
Snook, your lies, cheating and my resentment is the reason why we didn’t make it to happily ever after… I still love you so much and I hope that you are doing well out there 😘
Im sorry i love jazmin verson better. her voice is so fly and one of a kind. and she re-made it before beyonce. Dont get me wrong i like beyonce but jazmin wins my vote this time.
Beyoncé should re record when is voice got more mature cause when she sings it live it makes me wanna cry but jasmine def one of the only ones that can compete with B when it comes to singing techniques range
first of all beyonce is not screaming she is SINGING..and her verison is better she has more emotions in her song I feel her song when she is singing resentment..i don't feel it with jazz but jazz can sing..i feel more emotions on this song with beyonce is singing..because of the passion behind it
i agree with Prodajay81 ..this song sounds better with deeper vocaLz..cuz when it's too high..u can hardly understand the lyrics..just my opinion..but hella respect to Beyonce..she is thee best femaLe entertainer in these times..lol
@beyonce815 yea girl lol i means evrybdy's entitled to there own opinion but all tha extra is unecessary lol cuz ppl gne say wat they want but we cant cuss evrybdy out lol lmao though we wish we culd SO LETS B ON THT CHILL MODE CUZ EVRYBDY KNO THT BOTH OF THESE WOMEN CAN SING AND B/C THEY SING SO DIFFERENT U CANT COMPARE THEM THEY BOTH CAN SING LOL OK LUV U GIRLS JUS CUZ LOL
ayyy they're both great artist but as much as i love beyonce` i gotta go wit jazz on dis one . they both had very strong parts but jazz got it by a landslide
No, sorry I dont know what u mean?? Commercial as in studio?? I can admit she sound like herself.. If you think thats commercial well then thats your opinion! In my opinion I felt what she was saying.. Jasmine to me was just regular.. Now if Jasmine would have sung it like she did "In Love With Another Man" then maybe...just maybe I would agree with you..but she DIDNT!!! YES I am a fan of both women and both of them has talent but QUEEN BEE gave me soft, pure, and strong all in this song..
wow I think this was really really good her voice is amazing of course beyonce's voice is more powerful.. I like both versions but I'm not so much in to jaz. I liked beyonce's better. but this one was still good. p.s i'm not hating on her, I think jazmine is a great singer (:
