From this small country you can import fish, broken banks, fashion or music. The worlds biggest small country has a large culture. And from my norwegian perspective it's a loud culture. Some of the worlds most innovative music have it's roots in Island. Mezzoforte has for almost 30 years been my my favorit import item. They opened my ears for alternative music. When Earth wind and fire lost some of theyr funk, Mezzoforte jazzzzed it up again. Great music from a very underrated group

I remember when I was 10 liked a lot to play mezzo when it was raining and just looking at the yard and enjoing cosiness. I listen this band so many years and still amazed, many thanks guys

The first band I ever saw live back in 1983 and 1983 at The Venue, Victoria, London. Still quality after all these years.

Followed this creative group back in the 90's. Now watching them on RU-vid in my retirement. Doesn't get any better.

I discovered Mezzoforte in the 80s, probably because of Garden Party. At that time Iceland was know for... not much. And I could hardly believe this warm and fresh sound was imported from there. When I see and listen to them now it brings back so many memories about my time as a teenager, my thoughts and plans and emotions and they are looking down on me like Mount Rushmore idols and say: where have you been all the time? Here is our funk again.

My feelgood music. Great band.. Gulli Briem is the most relaxed drummer I know. Love to see him play!

Wow. Just discovered them by accident when I stopped on the Dutch channel on my cable system where they were playing at some jazz festival. Googled them and was sad I had never heard of them before. Really great. Some jazz groups are boring to listen to long term but these guys are constantly entertaining. They all seem to be enjoying playing together. Wonderful discovery.

Wonderful players all. But a special salute to Eythor, who in my opinion is still one of the world's most accomplished keyboardists and arrangers of this genre.

Mezzoforte is fun(k)! One of my first CDs was Best Collection, an import CD from Japan. Must have been at the end of the eighties. In the summer of 2008 I visited a concert of Mezzoforte in Bad Mergentheim/Germany in front of Hotel Victoria. They just came on the podium one after another with some minutes interval and joined playing. The sound engineer was very busy with his mixing console. After ten minutes or so all were on the podium, the sound eingineer relaxed and the concert started. Highlight of the evening was the drummer playing bass guitar with his drum sticks.

Their passion, love and commitment to their instruments and interplay still brings a smile upon my face! Great band! And we love the feminine expertise at the second part of the concert. Keep up the good work!

Not to forget the trombone in the horn section Karin Lammar. And guest trumpeter Joo Kraus who played the Garden Party solo 1:1 as originally recorded back in the eighties. As all the others as well, incredibly professional band, I'm fan from the first hours back then.

sympa, le problème avec le jazz "fusion", c'est que c'est répétitif, toujours le même tempo, pas de mélodies, de groove, d'arrangements... , en fait c'est une simple musique d'ambiance, rien de plus
