FLAC download link: www.dropbox.co... Artist: JazzCat Title: Electric city Check out my channel for more chiptunes. Updating frequently. Do you think the quality of this upload can be better? Let me know and I'll review it!
Does WinAHX render this incorrectly? I'm using the winamp plugin with xmplay on this, and don't remember the filtering effect in the beginning of this song being there...
Love the track & the flow/composition is top teir. My only critique is is that the tune/note used for the Bun-Dun bass beat is a bit too gritty. Almost like its trying to go a bit too low & causing static Keep up the good work.
I know I should shut up and enjoy the music but... "Electric City" sounds like a redundant name to me. Don't all cities run on electricity by nature? That's all I really wanted to say. Really cool tune otherwise. Would fit an intro level like in Megaman X, I think.
The city itself is made of electricity. No concrete, pure electricity, somehow made a solid. The whole place glows a brilliant white/blue. Or maybe because the waves of the music looked like a city?
That would sound cool actually. Kinda wish this youtube channel would become active again. I don't find a whole lot of places to explore the chiptune genre.
Me too. I hope it comes back soon, it was such a great way to find amazing tracks! What I use instead for now is modarchive.org + modplugplayer with thr download buttons of modarchive set to auto open in modplug, since our internet is so incredibly fast these days, it takes milliseconds to download and play the track, and if I like it , I can just click save to in mod plug. It works pretty well but it will not get the variation and selection of great music this channel gave
Yeah. I'll take a look into the modarchive thing... I would like to know how you got that set up and modified. But it's a real shame this channel kinda fell into the wayside. Extends Levant was the last song uploaded, I've heard rumors it caused the channel to go inactive. It's been 3 years, surely the owner hasn't forgotten...? What could prevent them from returning?
I think I can help with that. Slightly offkey, really "grumbly", the notes sometimes go from offkey to on-key, and vice-versa. It sounds like an inaccurate mess of echoes, blips, and extreme 8bit crunching.
I personally prefer to listen to amiga classics the same way i listened to them in the 90's. It's not only full separation- the sound is distinctive. Tried to emulate this on a pc - can't be done. When i plug in a physical amiga to a tv set it sounds way different. Matter of taste indeed.
;-))))) I just like the awkward amiga separation on Paula - some of the mods are made to use this effectively - sounds cheap-90'ish ;-) Emulators can't do that properly - you need a physical computer.
