jb weld to the rescue. i fixed a honda attc200 broken axle w/ jb weld. lasted for years. i sent jb weld a letter and they sent me back a nice sized box w/ jb weld hats,and other cool stuff.much respect

For anyone getting epoxy to repair something. The original JB weld formula is orders of magnitude stronger than the quick drying JB quick. Project farm did some tests and no quick dry epoxy was even close to the strength of the 24 hour formulas, regardless of which brand you are using. I like to keep both formulas around because sometimes the quick is strong enough for certain repairs. But the original JB is incredible.

I used something like JB weld (not sure about the brand) many years ago to repair my girlfriend fuel tank. It makes us save a lot of bucks and still works as I'm writing, 6 years later or so...

I am using JB weld to bond 2 3D printed parts together, there was a small gap, and looking back now, I should have used a steel mesh as you did with the cover. This is why I watch what others do, it can be very informative sometimes.

How well did the JB weld hold up long term?

Nice fix. I've heard you can sand and grind jb weld although I've never done it before. I like the hydrodip.

Blow torch. Fuel tank. Bang.

I always grind the JB Weld into both mating surfaces with my finger first to make sure there's a good mechanical bond.

I went with flex seal silicone and it has held up for the last week so far on my chinese 250cc enduro granted I waited the full seven days for it to dry before doing anything I'm pretty impressed the ship time for a new tank is 90 days from china so if it will last that long I would be happy but jbweld was my next option

Mine held up 6 months.

Would the glue be dissolved by gasoline?

That’s not a aluminum tank. It’s magnesium.
