The JBL Bar 700, 800 and 1000 turn your movies, TV shows, and games into a breathtaking, immersive experience, enveloping you in a sphere of 3D surround sound. Learn how to connect them to Wi-fi and your TV in this tutorial video.
I bought JBL 800 Soundbar last month. The sound quality is amazing and the formats it supports are rich. I am quite satisfied with it until I found it will automatically go to sleep every 10 minutes. I use an eARC connection - I connected my Blueray Player, MacBook, and PS4 to the TV and then TV through eARC to the Soundbar. The issue at hand is that the soundbar enters StandBy Mode every 9 minutes while I am watching films or listening to music. This will switch the TV Sound output to the TV speaker instead of the soundbar. This is not user-friendly, and as a result, I have had to purchase a robot finger to press the remote button every 9 minutes to ensure the continuity of sound and film. I believe that your product programmer could easily update the function to allow customers to decide whether the soundbar enters Standby Mode. Rather than programming the internal chip of the soundbar, it would be more beneficial to program the remote or phone app controller to trigger the signal to enter Standby Mode. This would greatly improve the user experience for your customers, myself included.
Hi Calvin, please check the current Software version of your JBL Bar 800. Press and hold the [SOURCE] and [VOL- ] buttons on the Soundbar for 10 seconds. The version should be V22.34.55.80.00. If you need more help updating the software, please reach out to our Customer Support.
@@jbl I have already contacted regional customer service and was informed that the auto standby function of my JBL soundbar is an internal hardware preset and cannot be altered. However, I suggest that the JBL program developer add a function to the JBL ONE app or the Remote controller that sends a wake-up signal before the soundbar goes into standby mode every 10 minutes. This would address the issue of the soundbar going into standby mode while I am watching a movie, which is clearly a bug when using e-ARC Connection. While I understand that the soundbar should go to sleep if there is no signal being sent to it for 10 minutes, it doesn't make sense for it to do so while I'm actively using it. I am disappointed that JBL has such a high-quality product but hasn't addressed this minor defect that could easily be resolved through firmware or app updates by your programmers.
@@Calvinkwan13 Having the same auto disconnect after 10 minutes with our 1,000 Bar. Wondering if you managed to resolve the issue with yours. Have been in touch with customer service and tried everything they've suggested but still got the same problem. They now want me to return the bar for them to diagnose but unable to tell me how long it will take them to do this. Not good enough @JBL.
Hi there. Thanks for sharing. Do these detachable speakers need to be plugged in after being placed on the left and right sides of the viewing area? So how is the electricity need met? charging or plug?
These soundbars says it "works with hey google" is there an active listening microphone in the soundbar that you can command with "hey google" or does this mean it only respond if contacted by other google assistant devices?
Do you need to be in the seating position when calibrating or should the area between the rear speakers be clear? Also when doing the first step of calibration do the speakers need to be at ear level or on the level with the front bar?
Hi George, thanks for your inquiry. For sound calibration, please do the following: • Make sure that your room is quiet; • Make sure that the soundbar and the two detachable rear speakers are fully in sight of each other, without obstacles in between. • Make sure that the left and right rear speakers are properly placed, the L speaker on the left and the R speaker on the right. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.
JBL 800 HDMI standard input/output? 1.4 / 2.0 / 2.1? Playstation5 --> Bar 800 --> TV (PS5+TV+Cable are in HDMI 2.1 standard) if I connect as above, does the TV display in 4K 120Hz?
Hello Jonno, thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Bar 800 detachable surround speaker's playtime is up to 10 hours. This may vary depending on volume and music content. If you need more help, please contact our customer support.
Hello , I have purchased the bar 800 and its connected to my TV in the HDMI EARC input. The problem is that every 10 minutes the bar goes to standby mode . This is really annoying. Could you please tell me how to fix this issue ??? Thanks
My TV has ARC but not Atmos support. I have an Amazon Fire TV Stick that does support Atmos. Can I plug in the stick directly to the sound bar? If so to which HDMI port do I plug it in? Thanks.
Hi JCS, thanks for reaching out. You can connect your Amazon Fire TV Stick to the soundbar directly. While TV video is sent through the soundbar to the TV via the ARC (HDMI OUT) connection. If you have any questions or concerns about your device, please contact our customer support.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The absence of a DTS codec on our JBL Bar 800 shouldn't be a significant issue for watching movies on Ultra HD Blu-ray or Netflix. Most content is available with various audio codecs, and the soundbar's support for Atmos should enhance your movie-watching experience. If you need more help, please reach out to our customer support.
My jbl bar 1000 keeps disconnecting from my TV. I've setup accordingly, but sometimes when I turn on the TV, it has disconnected from the speakers and I have to unplug everything and plug it back in for it to work, any ideas?

I purchased the JBL 1000 soundbar recently. After calibration there is louder sound coming from the left rear speaker than the right rear speaker when detached. How do I fix this?

Hello, I bought the JBL 800 Soundbar but it seems like it requires wifi, what I don't have. Can I just collect it to Bluetooth? And how exactly do I do that?
Hi Marie, thanks for your inquiry. Our JBL Bar 800 does not require a WiFi setup for the device to function. To connect via Bluetooth, you'll need to put your soundbar into pairing mode by pressing the Source button on the soundbar or the Bluetooth button on the remote. If you need more help, please check our country selector page to be routed to our local website here: www.jbl.com/countryselector
Just bought JBL Bar 800. Are the rear speakers(detached) supposed to be very quiet? Calibrated but I can barely hear anything from it when watching with Dolby atmos.
Thanks for reaching out. The detachable speakers of our JBL Bar 800 are relatively quieter than the main drivers on the soundbar when unmounted or detached. It is because the speakers primarily produce ambient sounds and surround sound effects, such as crowd noise, background music, and other surround sound effects from the content that enhances your overall audio experience. It also varies depending on the content playing from your source, particularly for some content where there are significant ambient sounds.
Good work, I own jbl bar 1000. The problem is that I am making the jbl one application as you did, but I could not connect in any way. I tried resetting it, the product appears in one application, it says connection is provided. Then the application says wait 20 seconds on it, nothing has changed. I waited half an hour. Tried more than once, no results. I would be glad if you help. It is very sad that your brand, which is so popular in Turkey, is not in the language of the country and there is no Turkish content for the products.

Hi Andraz, Thanks for your interest. Our JBL Bar 700, 800, and 1000 are not portable speakers and do not have a battery. It must be plugged into an outlet all the time.

The trouble with these instructions is that the hardware and software do not do what it says they're supposed to do. I'm trying to use ARC hdmi but the only connections on both device are output. Neither has an ARC in, as far as I can see.
Just make sure it’s ARC on both devices (TV and Soundbar). Then go to Settings on your TV - go to the Audio sub menu - then select eARC as the default. Done. Should work.
