Can you tell me about the Alexa feature? Do I need an echo device for interact with (voice control) or the sound bar built in Alexa works? I’m planning to use this Soundbar as main source for a ceiling speakers amp (powering a few speakers) that will fill my whole gourmet area.

If I will not use rear speakers and they will be permanently connected to the soundbar, can it be used to enhance the stereo sound? Or will they just play surround sound from wrong direction?

Probably have the same problem as the 5.1 and 9.1 sound bars that rear speakers loose charge and loose connection when watching movies, a lot of complaints on RU-vid, probably still don’t have the problem fixed yet

You said that the only differences with the JBL Bar 1000 are more speakers and HDMI ports... why you didn't mention that the JBL Bar 800 does not support DTS while the 1000 does 😢 i bought it following your recommandation 😢

Hello. I understand your problem. He not answer your comment. I want to buy 800 too but read about missing dts codec. 1000 have. I watch a lot ultra hd blu ray. Is that a problem?

@BLUESUNNL i recommend the 1000 or higher model as it supports DTS and DTS X so you can enjoy Blue Ray and iMax movies. The 800 is good but not for movies since it is only capable of Dolby/Atmos or pcm/Lpcm.

Hello there. If you find both of this soundbars at the same price I will go with the new JBL Bar 800 for connectivity, but if you want a more imersive experience the jbl bar 9.1 is a little bit more powerfull at surround sound / Atmos!

Hi, nice video👍 what about bass on jbl 800? I thinking to buy it, if it's better than 9.1? Because i saw comparison old jbl 5.1 (with detachable speakers) vs jbl 9.1 and jbl 5.1 is really better on subwoofer, but I want newer soundbar with dolby atmos. And jbl 5.1 subwoofer weigt ~13kg, jbl 9.1 ~11kg and jbl800 ~10kg. So i am confused about jbl 800 it is really good in bass, i need your opinion 😉 in my country 9.1 and 800 the price is almost the same

The JBL BAR 5.1 with rear detachable rear speakers is one of my favorite soundbars on the market due to cost / performance! Cheers

Hi - because it has 5 front drivers, 1 subwoofer and 2 atmos - upward firing drivers. At 700 USD is one of the best Soundbars in this price range!!! Cheers

Did you use HDMI eArc when connected to the TV? If they sound very quiet, make a reset and then setup again - make a calibration! Hope this helps! Cheers

dont know.. the jbl has to my ears a more theatrical sound.. the sub is much more active and deeper.. but the vocals and the atmos effects will be a bit better on q990b, more wider..
