Recently you responded you don't do firmware upgrades out of 'risk considerations' and only review products 'as they are', when I said I was a bit disappointed you didn't also try to demo us the Earfun Uboom L with the firmware upgrade. You even reacted in a defensive way, as if I somehow insulted you..which was totally uncalled for. Are you sure you didn't deny your viewers a listen to the updated Uboom L merely out of a personal grudge with Oluv?
no i never said in general i dont do firmware upgrades. That is clearly untrue from all my firmware videos. I said when the firmware update requires the media tool i cant recommend people do that because of the risk that specific tool carries. I said i was reviewing the Uboom L in stock firmware for the first video because of the above and that most people buying it will have no idea that another firmware is floating about and of course the media tool requires some level of knowledge. I have said the same about w-king speakers which requires the same process. I was going to update the Uboom L in the very next video but after the comments made to me by Oluv which he later deleted that were of such an infantile and abusive level that i decided he can go fuck himself. I see him doing this on other videos of the Uboom L. This is the guy who said all other reviewers are liars and now doesnt think they should even have an opinion that conflicts with his. By the way it wasnt my opinion he didnt like, it was simply my decision to not update firmware in first video. I owe nobody anything. Im here for the beer as i told you before and will do what i want while remaining true to myself. I wont go against what i believe toi be right just to keep some Oluv fanboys happy. I dont recall ever being rude to you. However of course if challenged I will defend what i believe in. being defensive is very subjective in its meaning so im not sure what specifically you have taken offence too. For explaining myself? You give yourself away at the end by referring to my personal grudge with Oluv. I dont have a personal grudge but have been on the receiving end of his abuse and lies for years. of course I will react. You have no idea how weird he is or the history that has gone before. I answer every single question on every comment out of respect to the posters but i have noticed a trend with the Uboom that it has brought out the Oluv fanboys who share his awful attitude and cannot ask a simple question without tainting the whole post as you did at the end there. It is exactly those silly comments over a speaker for gods sake that makes me not give a fuck if i never see that speaker again. Deny my viewers? really? have you any idea the time i spend on these videos to try and be helpful? You constantly mention being part of the audiophile community, again a trend i note is that oluv fanboys and people who describe themselves as audiophiles have an inability for reasoned debate without abuse. I am very disappointed in you Wuppie62, you have supported this channel for a long time so the fact that you cannot accept my reasons, right or wrong for not updating the uboom is a let down and i see where your loyalty is. not only did you end the comment with a knife twist but you misrepresented everything i had said and explained previously.
Awesome video Alan, shame (but not surprising) that they couldn't add more headroom is really. I'm still happy with my two booms. Btw nice new neon sign in the background!
@@alanrossreviews I always notice little stuff like that, pretty weird. Have you updated your booms to firmware 0.40 yet? I did the gamble and didn't notice any difference lol
@@alanrossreviews haha mate that's fair enough I'd probably skip it tbh. Was another one of those "bug fixes" lol. I didn't notice a sound change at all
I second that, looks very 80's, love it 👌Wasn't sure at first if it wasn't just one of your effects you like to throw up there sometimes for the fun of it 😉
@@alanrossreviews Oh I wasn’t saying you botched it Alan, I was talking about the chinese company itself. Such a miss on their part, but it still does look clean though 🤪🤪🤪
Hi *Alan Ross* ! Another great video, congrats! I've just bought the *Boombox 2 ND* version...to the types of music i always listen to, it's doing a great job...that Deep bass....fantastic! Now, please tell me this, should i Update the speaker?
My father had a phenomenal sounding marantz amplifier , guess what it had those three nobs, treble ,midrange and bass…lol It was from the early eighties. My God JBL get into the modern age of digital equalization!!!! BTW…. In the Marantz manual the three nobs were called “Tone Controls”.
Oh snap! Looks like they felt the heat from the Stormbox Blast. I was pretty amused at the 3 band "EQ" though lol! Heaven forbid people could play with the JBL "signature" sound lol. I like the you boom trend in the videos so far, I wonder how long you can keep that up...
Although Boombox 2 is ultimately better in bass I prefer the price to performance of the Tribit Blast. No denying the Boombox 2 is great just harder to justify the price with the Blast in existence. Thanks for another awesome review, Alan! 😁👍👏
Another measurements Alan Ross video 🥳 About pulling all down, i was wondering, if +2 +2 +2 increases the depth around 2.5 kHz, could -2 -2 -2 reduce the depth? 🤔 I mean, what you said about the peaks at the end of the video, could those peaks actually help in this case 😅 (?) I hate that 3 bands EQ and having to think silly solutions to fix an awful depth that shouldn't be there in the first place, considering the price (JBL jbl JBL jbl JBL 🎶 🤑)
its not a wife speaker, its a bluetooth speaker. if its left on then yes it runs the battery down. maybe you mean left on power lead? then yes over a long period this will reduce battery life
ALSO XTREME3 AND BOOMBOX 3 ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CLASS!! 3WAY VS 2 WAY, THERE IS NO REASON THAT THE BOOMBOX 3 IS THE SAME AS THE XTREME3, IT LOOKS LIKE YOU FORGOT THE SUBWOOFER!
Well I use +1 +2 +2 but I got my Motion Boom plus yesterday from Soundcore. I'm so glad I never had to deal with the horrible 6KHZ peak. The Boom plus is tuned pretty different compared to the Motion Boom but I love it so far😁
My new JBL sounded really bad when only listing to Spotify, then realized that I was running 2 EQ's at the same time. The Spotify one in their playback settings, and also the JBL one together. Took ages to work work out that having 2 EQ's is not better than 1 EQ.🤔
im not a fan of layered eq but it doesnt have to be that way, we already have layered eq, the mastering would have been eqd to hell and the speaker is also eqd internally anyway.
I use Poweramp Equalizer (31 bands) to eq my Motion Boom that is already in custom EQ, and it is glorious. I do that with other devices too. You don't have to apply the same EQ settings in both, you have to complement them, to reach frecuencies you can't touch in the embedded EQ
alan between the W-king t11 vs JBL boombox 2, tribit blast and motion boom plus Upgrade it wich one will ve your choice. Master now im tribit blast lost i broke mine and there is no more stock .... :(
i dont have the t11 but reports say with the latest firmware t11 is a blast contender. i would rather have the blast than the boom plus or bb2. but dont discount a pair of motion booms.
@@alanrossreviews yes i saw the comercial on the Wking t11 but i have no idea when will be available in Europe. well i have to wait until theu have stock to get one new stormbox blast
@@travisedmiston8001 well, was an accident, jop was bad luck maybe she was jealous because i was using the motion boom plus offten outdoor, because of the weigrh but now i was using it and with kids well what can i say just fell down and sounds like crap now... Xd shitty life
Well......I guess that I'll have to change and seriously upgrade the speakers (drivers) and add crossovers. These are component speakers in the JBL Boombox 2.
Alan, please provide me your opinion if 2x Extreme 2 sound better than a single Jambox 2 if bass is not my top priority? I greatly appreciate your thoughts…David
@@alanrossreviews I’m sorry Alan I meant the JBL Boombox 2 vs 2x JBL Extreme 2…which would sound better if bass was not my top priority but rather overall sound quality
Hey Alan, can we get a small analysis/speculation video or a community post on the JBL BoomBox 3 videos that’s floating around? I know there is a word floating around that it is sharp on shrill/treble and many people in the the comment section of those videos are actually waiting for you to do a spectrum analysis to settle the doubts! Just type JBL Boombox 3 and sort by upload date if you want to find them. The channels I’m referring to are M Kao Marcos, and Techder Audios
i cant tell anything till i do my own recordings. you cant just put a mic in front of these speakers and get the actual sound of the speaker sadly. JBL told me there is a chip shortage so wont be out in the uk any time soon. i cant even get the encore 🙈
@@alanrossreviews yes that’s true, people will have to carry on with that curiosity till it’s available in your region, sadly there are very few RU-vidrs who are interested in in-depth analysis of frequency response.
its really a niche thing, i do it because this is the information i personally want to know most people just want a 3 minute saying if its a good speaker or a bad speaker 😂😂
Ah there it is, ty. I really liked the comparisons of the different settings. On another note... Have u ever tried wavelet? While it's used mainly for Headphones u can still use it as a 9 band eq for any Bluetooth device. I use it with my boombox, airpods 3 and Sony xm3s and it works great.
Third party EQ doesn't know where the dips & peaks are in the frequency response i.e. you can say layering an EQ upon EQ will result in sound clipping.
Alan Ross Reviews to me speakers are essential for midnight listening. I keep the volume on my Motion+ below 40% and it sounds really flat with a warm rumbly bass signature.
The JBL Boombox 2 dominated this part of the bluetooth market with its massive bass output for more than 2 years now. Nice to see, that Tribit managed to make such a competitive speaker for half the price. In late summer 2022, i would wait for the JBL Boombox 3, which is going to wipe the floor with the Boombox 2 and the Tribit Blast thanks to its huge racetrack subwoofer, or buy the Tribit Blast thanks to its very good price. If you want the best sound and the possibility for feature upgrades by firmware updates, i would buy the JBL Boombox 3. Sure, its price is very expensive, but you get that extra part, which makes the choice easy for me. I mean, who would have guessed, that JBL delivers an free update for the Boombox 2, which gives you an 3 band eq, two years later? I think the EQ will be available for the BB3 from the beginning. Really looking forward, what kind of updates will arrive. My BB3 preorder ETA is august 15th. Hope it will connect with my BB2 in party mode...
Best to wait till we hear it, sometimes changes are made to please marketing rather than the engineers. Probably an extra woofer rather than a subwoofer. 🤷
Hmmm... another response curve that looks like they wired the tweeters out of phase. Another BT speaker where I'm tempted to change the wiring on the tweeters, just to see if that big notch in the FR is eliminated...
@@dominiksx I've done it on one or two speakers before, just not on a BT speaker yet. I've done somewhat more major x-over designs as well, but that's for passive speakers. The BT speakers that I have at the moment don't need the tweak.
I use 31 bands in poweramp, it is supposed to keep the sound "pure". You can also use Wavelet, it has a 2.5 kHz slider, i prefer the first option but had to buy it
@@alanrossreviews The BB3 would be a bass monster for its size but how neutral will it be in the rest of the frequency range or how they tune it for off axis i.e bumping up the higher frequencies will be YOUR job to find out. LMFAO! If its really THAT good, I wouldnt mind spending more for it and be done with. But JBL......... hmmmmmp.
My Motion Booms just received a message for updating to firmware 0.40. PLEEEASE, ALAN! Show us what it is! SoundCore just says in app (again) "Errores Corregidos" ("Bugs Fixed") 😆😆 THANKSSS and greetings to porn bears 😆
@@FrancisTernero1 los osos porno XD i'm waiting for the Alan's firmware update report too, maybe he could comment something about it in the next video that includes the Motion Boom, maybe a battle video or so 🤞
they most target update because of boombox 3 is not have enough upper bass i means boomy bass and boombox 2 has did. so update can make it that's can't be better from boombox 3. warning do not update
