Hyperboom just can't deliver the deeper, fuller bass the Boombox 3 can. Also keep in mind the Boombox 3 was running off it's battery in this video, with the Hyperboom was plugged in. You get a performance boost when you plug in the BB3. Htyperboom isn't a bad speaker, I just never thought it's price was justified. I recently did the Megaboom 4 vs Sony ULT Field 1 and for $200 the Megaboom 4, much like the Hyperboom, just doesn't deliver the performance to justify the price.
Good reviews Jay! Ask Mr Hand? If he's done a frequency generator on JBL boombox 3. Some spec's say 40hz, some 50hz. I don't have the 3 yet. Only access I have to one is Walmart. I don't think they would like me doing it in store. Lmfao 😆😆😆
BB3 is much powerful and has much clear sound there is no comperison at all I just get mine and everything in the room is shaking it has MASSIV BASS i just love it 🔊🎶🎶🎶
hyperboom eq is set to flat to conserve power....... change the mids, treble and base n hyperboom hits next level 🎉 nppbox is already set at max clarity n hyperboom u need to change in eq.
Boombox 3 won that for sure! Also if you still have both of your encore/essentials could you do both of them (TWS) against the Boombox 3 as they end up at about the same price together ($500ish). Great video by the way!
No veo comparativa del 110 vs hyperbom creo que contra el 100 apenas as la han hecho felicitaciones excelentes videos ojala algun rato tenga miles o millones de suscriptores ...espero algún rato hagas esta comparativa
Yes. Because it heeps the kick, that 70-80 hz punch which the boombox swallows due to some mid-bass compromise, in order to keep all that deep bass up.
@@ddmansfield3677 I hope you're not talking about me. I have a full 2.2 minirig setup, so if I'm honest, both the jbl and the ue sound rather meh. Boombox, fake bass and peaky in the treble slightly and the hyperboom muddy and tio boomy for indoor use. Both have too much bass boost for indoor use for me.
@@MaximoAtonducan I kind of like leaving the highs in the middle. But thanks for the suggestion. I've probably tried that variation in my time tinkering with the basic EQ that JBL offers.
You may have hearing damage already. Pro Tip: There is a custom EQ for the speaker where you can actually lower the mids and highs if you so choose to do so. Who knew? 🤪
@@JaysStraightUpReviews yeah a little bit deaf after listening to the video. Pro tip what? Decrease the mid and high will lower the volume and what is the point? You can just turn the volume down. The problem is not enough bass to balance those awful mid and high.
I just bought the Hyperboom and was kinda disappointed. Like you said, it sounds like it wrapped in a towel or something. My Harman/Kardon Onyx Studio 1 sounds better and then thing is, the Hyperboom doesnt get much louder than my Onyx 1.
Yeah, the Hyperboom has the same type of sound signature for the most part as a lot of the UE speakers. It's not a bad speaker, but just doesn't really do anything well. For the price of $450 I always felt it was very overpriced. It's not a big speaker, not impressively loud, nor does it have the most impressive bass capability.
JBL does use DSP to reduce bass at high volume levels. Sony also does this, as well as other brands. It's to keep from distorting and potentially damaging the woofer. The Hyperboom will distort if you try and push too much bass by using their in app EQ.
there is a total reason for this, so there’s no distortion, as the creator said. On my channel there’s a couple of videos of when you push the hyperboom to much. It literally just shuts off because of the distortion
I had a UE Boom 3 several years ago and it kind of had the same sound signature as the Hyperboom. A warm sound with not a lot of detail and the bass just didn't hit like the Charge 3 I had back then. I think it was Charge 3.
Not really, the sony speakers were just trash(the big ones: xb60,90,72 etc). Also, the new ones in the xe series are horrible sound wise. No deep bass, some sizzling mess in the treble, whistling mids.
I am so glad i didn't waste my money on the hiperboom. 70% - 100% it sounds better? I don't agree. I think it's "too quiet." If i had the hiperboom I would (A) take it back and get a full refund, or (B) put it on Facebook marketplace and sell it to the highest bidder. Also, most people don't listen above 70% anyway unless they're really getting drunk or they're throwing a big party. And boombox 3 would still be better because it's way way louder! This is a "no brainer," in my opinion😅
@@JaysStraightUpReviews I misspelled "hyperboom" lol. In my opinion the only thing "hyper" about it is the high price. But it does have its fans. I've heard people say it sounds better than Skullcandy barrel which I definitely disagree with that. But I've even heard people say it sounds better than the boombox 3 JBL. Obviously your comparison proved that to be false. That JBL boombox 3 is not perfect, and I'm sure no speaker is, but that boombox 3 is pretty hard to beat. I guess I need to go spend $349 for it today
@@JaysStraightUpReviews Yes and with the Black Friday deals we can save a lot of money. My dad used to tell my mom that they could save even more if they don't go to the store at all. Hahaha 🤣🤣🤣
No, the hyperboom is not flat, it's just muddy. That's it's biggest problem regarding treble and mids. The mids are ok, but the treble is just too rolled-off. Also, the bass of the UE is a bit boomier. I prefere that outdoors. Compared to the boombox, which has this flabby, deep, fake sounding bass, with no kick unfortunately. It's impressive, but outdoors, I would say that the mid-bass is a bit more important that the deep bass. For me, a 60 hz boost would be perfect on the boombox(like the pb100). That would give the bass not only more weight, but also more body. It'd be fuller. Back to the treble of the hyperboom, it's slightly better that the boombox off-axis(also, mids are more natural off-axis), but, then, the *180 degree design is a bit useless, because you don't have enough treble to fill those 180 degrees . Still, they are both great. Also, the boombox got refined compared to the peaky boombox 2. And the limiter, the multi band compressor is new, I believe, because it has less of that issue at high levels with dissapearing bass and treble.
Outdoors in what setting? I think if you had the Boombox 3 up near a wall when outside it would still be more impressive than the Hyperboom. This garage video was done with the door open and the Hyperboom just can't hang.
Yeah, I mean the Hyperboom is really a pretty solid speaker, but it's long in the tooth now and just kind of over-priced. I may soon put the Hyperboom up against the Tribit Blast, which is usually available for around $160.
@@mrspecialk1234 this isn't my first rodeo, cowboy. 🤠 I'm from the home theater scene from many years back and what you are referring to is "corner loading", which is even more so for home subwoofers than Bluetooth speakers. You are introducing another boundary to influence the sound compared to just close to a single wall. Pretty much any speaker with any decent amount of bass can pick up gains in output and bass if you throw it in a corner, not just something like the Hyperboom. It can have varying degrees of results, however, depending on the room and the speaker itself. Some subwoofers can actually sound worse doing this as bass can become muddy or boomy.
