I have seen the specs of two speakers that Boombox has maximum at 60W when using with AC but Go+play at 90W. Why people say boombox is louder ? Can you tell me that which one is louder ?
I work at an electronics recycling plant and I found one of the h/k speakers that there that still worked. It’s perfect for my workstation. Isn’t too loud to be a nuisance to my neighbors and with me being an audiophile, it is a plus
I own a HK GoPlay and I bought it for $180. It has enough bass and its loud enough for me. I have used it at big parties and get togethers and I always get positive feedback. Now, imagine if I had a second one to pair it with
Thanks for comment John. That is what is great about the HK GoPlay they go on sale for very cheap and you can afford two for the same price as a Boombox. I even seen them as low as $150 Canadian at Costco
I have the go+play and it is handsdown the best bluethoot speaker for use at home (price/sound Quality wise). The bass is almost unbelievable. It sounds like a stand alone Subwoofer, but it isn't overwelming, it handles every genre with ease. BUT the battery has died for the second time on me already in 3 years time. Although Harman Kardon fixed it the first time for free, there are many people who have this issue. My speaker now only works about 15min without being plugged in. It seems like almost all speakers have this issue in their lifetime so it is really something tot take into account if you plan on using it without plug a lot. I just always have mine plugged in so I have the full 100W of sound Quality instead of 80W (unplugged)
This is true. All battery powered speakers will have this issue over time. The same thing happened to my Flip 4. When buying these bluetooth portable speakers just make sure they have the option to be plugged in to AC because the battery WILL die at some point.
In general, when charged batteries are used until discharging totally, they(charged batteries) die easily. You must discharge until %20 and then charge them again until %90. Maximum charging level and lowest level can make damage the batteries. Ideal charging levels are between %20 and %90. In ‘GoPlay’ from 1 led to 4 leds of 5 leds. I have ‘GoPlay’ and use it for 2 and a half years.
Hello, one4all Thanks for commenting. That's what I am trying to do is present information to help people decide what is best for them. Both speakers are great but its a matter of personal sound preference and how you plan to use it that will make the difference between liking a particular speaker or not.
Hello, solnasonen Thanks for commenting. You cannot pair the Go+Play. All new JBL Wireless speaker pair with JBL Connect+. HK Go+ Play is not compatible.
I have Harman Kardon Go+play. Sound is very crisp and clear but after few months me and my friend facing same issue with battery which we can’t charge and issue. I Suggest to go with JBL rather than HK GO+play.
Hello Julio. The Boombox is a little louder and sounds great with modern recordings but the sound is a little muddled on older recordings. I think if you listen to classic rock mostly the Go+play maybe better for you.
I have the xtreme and I think of switching to one of the two .. would be to hear pearl jam, metallica, pink floyd, led zeppelin, etc. In terms of volume has much difference between jbl xtreme, boombox and harman kardon go play?
Jbl is loud but lows arent as good as HK. I would put HK as outdoor because of its lows. Put these two inside a room and you will hear loudness from jbl and loud/bass from go play. Price wise, go play is half if not even less that jbl
Hello Friss, If you like a more even sound and listen to a broad range of music especially older music go for the Go+play but if you like a signature sound and listen to the latest pop songs the Xtreme would probably be better, JBL has really done a nice job with the Xtreme especially with the new firmware update. If I had to choose one I would go for the Xtreme 2 it is much more rugged, longer battery life more features than the Go+Play. Often the Go+play can be purchased for around $200 but at the moment the Xtreme is on sale at Amazon for less than the Go+PLay. amzn.to/2RCRPsM. Let us know what you get. Cheers Pete
Thanks for the comment. At this point, I am not sure, but I will look into it. If anyone else reads this comment an knows how. Please comment. Cheers Pete
Switch on the Device, then just push and hold the "Vol. +" and the "Play/Pause" Button together (➕ + ⏯️) till all LEDs are on. As additional feedback you get one short red LED light. Done.
Hello, Sem Thanks for the compliment and for commenting. I just started my channel a few weeks ago and these are my first videos. I posted this video two days ago. Have to say this is very good video and very good review !! I am about to buy one and these are the two on my final list. I want it more for outside and long hours of battery, so I think I will go for JBL Boombox.
According to your suggestion to me. I will be buying the boombox in next month, and I have some question to ask you. Q: If the boombox battery will be degenerated in the future, how can I change it ? Thank you in advance.
Hello Phoowanart Jittana I contacted JBL and was disappointed in their answer. " We don't carry the battery for this product, so your best bet is online, possibly eBay/Amazon or other locations" I have had my JBL Boombox for a year now with no problems. I would say you have at least 2 to 3 years or more before you have to worry about it and by then I will have a video on how to replace the batteries. So just buy it and take care of it and it should last a long time. Cheers Pete
I’m stuffed here Have jbl xtreme 1 it’s ok...... I was expecting better infact way better is not that loud tbh or I’m deaf but I use it at park and tbh it’s not like dealing loud outside...... but ok So I’m looking at Hk studio 4 Go + Jbl boombox Sony Xb41 See... I want bass that I will feel through the floor which jbl xtreme is actually ok for that nit best but ok But I also need one what goes louder than xtreme 1 so uhhh??? Also I cannot buy any bigger than boombox becuase it’s ridiculous size already lol
Wolf. I think for you the JBL Boombox is the way to go. Unfortunately it is the most expensive option. The HK Onyx studio is a great sounding stylish speaker at about half the price of the Boombox but it is not as portable and not ideal to take to the beach. The HK Go+play is half the price but not as loud and again not as good to take to the beach. The Sony Xb41 at also half the price as the Boombox has fancy lights but does not sound as good and has less bass and volume than the Boombox. Keep an eye out at Amazon over the next few weeks and the Boombox should go on sale. amzn.to/2ScMhW3 Cheers Pete
@@GearGadgetsandGizmos its just i have jbl xtreme and i kinda dont want another jbl XDX i like the speaker but i just like having different beacuse it looks the exact same just bigger LOL ok thinking jbl boombox Onyx Studio 4 or 3 jbl xtreme 2 MINIRIG SUBWOOFER [ that i can use with my xtreme ] you know wwhat would have more bass? no reviews on minirig subwoofer really talks about bass lol idk? its meant to be the worlds first portable subwoofer..... so ummmmm would it have bass ? or will it just have as much bass as the jbl xtreme [ like ifi used the minirig sub woofer with say any speaker vs the jbl xtreme 1 would the jbl still win over bass or minirig subwoofer would be a good subwoofer?
Hello JuttL1, Thanks for commenting. Great to hear you got a good deal on the Go+Play. It really is a great deal at that price. Get a second one and you will have a full stereo system for less than a Boombox. I do really like the Boombox but for some, it may be a little pricey. I think they will go on sale more often in the near future.
Gear Gadgets and Gizmos Hello. Dual Play fucktion does not allow speakers to play on stereo. Both still produces full soundstage, not left or right. Or have there been update?
OIVAriini Translations: Where do you get the price of the bucket? Hello OIVAriini, the prices I have quoted are on Amazon. Maybe JuttI1 Gaming knows where you can find them in Finland.
jbl boombox is much louder than the go play, go play is just as Loud as the xtreme series on jbl. if you want a big bluetooth speaker thats loud, get a jbl boombox
lucas chevallereau hello Lucas thanks for the comment. Yes the Go play is a really good deal. You can get two HK Go+play for the price of a JBL Boombox. The Boombox is so new. Keep an eye out for it to come on sale later this year.
@@GearGadgetsandGizmos I just saw it, I'm not notified on comments.. but yeah I've got one Go play and I'm planning on upgrading the battery ^^ (just change the cells or double the number of cells I still don't know)
Manrique Ramirez It is examples of both speakers. In different setting so people can get an idea of the size of the speaker. On a night stand the Boombox is a little big and the go play fits better. But if you like a big speaker you go for it. I personal use the boombox more.
