JBL Charge 3 vs Anker Soundcore 2 - With Sound Comparison!

My charge 3 is amazing. No comparison to the Anker. The base and overall quality sets it apart. However my aunt uses the Anker at a quieter volume for in the kitchen and for that it does a great job. If you're doing anything outside though, or in a bigger space, JBL is the way to go.

Just ordered an Anker speaker for a good deal as smaller is better for me when going on hikes or bike packing and the sound compared to price fits me good

You should have compared the anker with one of the flips series of jbl because come on jbl charge is a pretty big boy to fight with

I own the Anker Soundcore 2, and would recommend it fully. Also, I have studio headphones, and I decided to compare the way the Soundcore sounds in your recording through my DT770's vs what it sounds like in real life. I've always heard that these types of recordings of speakers should be taken with a grain of salt, cause loads of things color the sound in the recording and playback chain. Also, the listener is required to already have great audio gear to get a good idea about the product (And you're presumably in the market to buy cause you don't have gear yet.) But at least through my Line 6 UX2 audio interface and DT770's, your video portrays the Soundcore 2 accurately vs what it sounds like in real life. I would like to mention that you can get more bass out of the Soundcore if you place it on the right type of furniture. (I have a specific wooden cabinet where it sounds better than anywhere else, so the surface it's on, as well as the room it's in do matter.) Battery life is great with one caveat. If it's turned on, but playing nothing it still seems to be loosing charge at the same pace. That's a bit of a disappointment, as some Bluetooth earbuds i own can last a week turned on as long as they aren't playing any sounds, while the Soundcore - it seems - discharges as quickly on standby as it does playing.

what is the bluetooth disconnect timer on the soundcore 2 set at? on the JBL it's 30 seconds if a signal isn't received, which for my purposes (iRealPro app) is far too short.

JBL is louder but Soundcore 2 got much much clearer sound for those who like clean sound instead loud noise Soundcore 2 is the right choice and there is more to the music than stupid bass without other frequencies.

Thank you for sharing the sound comparison at the end of the video. JBL sounds louder than Anchor 2. Yet, I can get about 2 Anchors for the price of 1 JBL. I guess it depends on the importance of sound verses budget.

Good to see a reviewer that replies to his subscribers/commentors. Good job, and great video. I'm actually torn between the JBL Flip4 and the Oontz Angle 3 Ultra. I'm on a loud rough terrain forklift all day, so I don't need audiophile level quality lol. Opinions?

There is sound quality and sound quantity. The JBL has better sound quality, but for people who just want to hear it louder and longer, the Anker is the one. I have an issue when listening to music, my ears are so picky to how the music sounds that it can be aggravating, especially if I've heard it before in a very clear form. Also when a speaker setup is designed poorly or has an inferior crossover design, it takes tons of DSP to try and correct it. Using separate tweeters helps with high frequency spl, but it also brings out flaws in the Anker setup. The JBL using one speaker keeps the highs more subdued and it's easier to tune out the issues with the digital amplifier that way. I also prefer the better sounding low end of the JBLs, even though it's not like listening to an actual subwoofer. The Anker low frequency is chopped off with a sharp crossover, to allow higher spl with higher frequencies and longer play time. If only Anker would allow it to play a little more low frequency bass and sacrifice a couple hours play time.

I love my lil anker dont have to worry abiu charging it or dying while i do my 13hr days, the jbl dos sound better my friend has one but the play time just does not last that long

Just because something has more bass doesn't mean it sounds better. I have the flip 5 and it's super muffled but yea it has good bass.

I have both. But have two soundcore 2 for stereo. About the same weight as one charge 3. And you can't beat separated stereo.

I have the JBL Charge 3. It's definitely larger and more expensive , but still portable and the sound and bass for a portable BT speaker is awesome very loud enough, esp. when I use the Aux cord and use in app optimization further to improve sound output. So if any, JBL is worth the buy. Bought it for 115 usd at a discount last year, still works great.

Anker soundcore boost or sony srs xb 21 or jbl flip 4 ??

The JBL Charge 4 is, unlike the Charge 3, a mono speaker. Don’t know how noticeable that is, because the speakers on the stereo devices are very close together and forward firing.

The JBL has too much base for playing at home with disturbing everyone in the house.

I have both and i can say that charge3 has alot more bass but soundcore2 has clearly better high frequency output. Soundcore2 also has alot better stereo separation than charge3. Battery lifetime is almost the same. Soundcore2 speaker elements are well protected so that you can easily carry it around without worries, unlike charge3. My best advice is to buy both of them like i did, you will not regret that decision. Btw. Even charge4 has better high frequency output than charge3, it only has one speaker element, unlike charge3 or soundcore2, meaning that it is a mono speaker. Really weird "update" from JBL. Because of that it sounds boring to my ears.

I love my charge 3....plus I'm a big JBL fan...I had a 5.1 JBL surround sound for years until that thing retired....so when my wife got me the charge 3 for father day gift...I was giddy lol. I have listened to Bose Sounlink 3s and a bunch of other speakers but for me they didn't sound as good as the charge3...now I want to get the JBL boombox it's like a massive charge 3 lol
