the highs on the Megamboom 3 are slightly tinny, but the sound response is more flat and more accurate. The Megaboom 3 is much more clear and defined. You really need to stand right next to them to tell though. The Charge 4 is better in one direction, but the Megaboom 3 has 360 sound. The Charge 4 is 50$ cheaper, so maybe go with it. I have to say though, that the software is very intuitive on UE speakers, definitely superior to that of Jbl. Also UE has 150ft of range, unlike 80 from Jbl. Really, both are great speakers, it jist comes down to personal preference.
Tristan Kai well i don‘t really think the sound is natural, as every hi-fi studio monitor or speaker, which are tuned flat to be natural sounding, have more apparent treble. The UE lacks all of the low and mid bass-band, which, for the size, should not be the case. The UE distorts and also compresses, which is kind of sad, as they didn‘t learn from that throughout the years.
Andrea Andi Antonini that is because you didnt listen with headphones. Phone speakers can only play mid and upper bass, and as the UE has no deep bass, it sounds louder.
The DJrobloX yes but thats obvious. The size difference is huge between those two! Personally, i prefer the ue megaboom because of its size. The JBL of course has way better sound :)
@Barbecue Sauce Lol. I look at a lot of speaker vids now and always comment whenever I feel like it 😂😂. The fact that you see my comments means that it gets popular so... That's a good thing 😊
Finally someone that compares speakers correctly. The megaboom is supposed to compete with the charge, not the xtreme. Everyone else compares it to the xtreme 1 and 2 when the price and size differences are quite big. The megaboom 3 is a nice improvement over the older model. JBL charge 4 is pretty much the same as the 3. Neither of them is really worth the upgrade at this point. Very comparable though, love them both, shout out to UE for making a speaker on par with the King JBL
Lorenzo Giancristofaro well the UE is not very comparable to the Charge 4, as it doesnt have deep bass, distorts, sounds undefined in the treble region (but balanced between mids and highs) and compresses.
This video is misleading, both the charge 4 and mega boom 3 are great speakers, I own both, people in the comments saying the mega boom has more bass are WRONG the reason it sounds like it is because of the 360 sound in the echos room, the 360 sound makes the consistency of sound differentiate across the room, and the bass isn’t as clear and has a more raw raw effect, the jbl is the best in my opinion but no hate for the mega boom 3... hope this helps clear anything up. Oh yeah, another thing is the charge 3 is better than the charge 4 though because of stereo sound sooooooooo the answer is charge 3 is the best... gotcha.
They're all pretty good. JBL is fun because obviously the bass is best, but UE is the loudest and is 360°. The other one lags just behind everywhere but it's still pretty good. UE for me
The mega boom is way louder, I tried it at Best Buy and the sound is clear which is great, the JBL isn’t as loud and the bass messed with the sound quality
I bought both today, heart was set on jbl, megaboom easily sounded fuller and louder, nice full solid sound, jbl was good sounding but no way could you pick it over the other. Tested same songs for an hour. If you bought one of them, it’s less than 200 bucks so don’t freak out, just buy the other one later for a different room or work or something. Megaboom 3 wins. I listen to heavy bass guitar funk jazz and electronic atmospheric stuff.
Listen to this test with a good set of headphones as they'll recreate a more natural sound compared to earbuds. To me the UE sounds muddy, almost compressed. The bass is good (better then JBL) but overall its muddy. The JBL actually sounds clearer and cleaner, which is amazing considering it has one driver. I've also found this to be true in other tests, but people complain the charge 4 cant play as loud as the older model.....so who actually blasts their speakers at 100% volume all the time? Not many, not with a speaker as small as the ones tested.
very true, I think JBL and UE make good speakers for different demographics, which means they add or ignore features accordingly. JBL's directional sound and punchy bass makes their speakers great for indoors, while only sounding good outdoors when you upgrade to the bigger Xtreme or Boombox. UE sound focuses on mids and upper lows to deliver the best 360° outdoors. They are made for different users, but in this test they were quite comparable.
Robert NES816 i agree with most of the things, but the Megaboom doesnt have better bass than the Charge 4. The Megaboom only has upper bass, no lower bass which is unacceptable for the size. And the Charge 4 is as loud as the Charge 3, because i compared it.
UE is getting closer to the competition, but still not quite there. The real reason UE gets put down so much is people compare the booms to the charges and mega booms to the xtremes, when booms are closer to flips and mega booms are closest to charges. UE has no Xtreme competitor.
I'd have to go with the JBL charge 4. Much better balanced sound overall. Highs, mids and lows sounded clean and clear. The ue boom I feel had excellent to very good mid, lows were okay alitte muddy. It really lacked in the highs, high hats sounded too subdued for me personally. The divoom was very good with the mid and lows, highs was ok. This is my own opinion as I personally listened to both the JBL and the ue using the same music for both at the same volume. No personal use with the divoom apart from listening to this video.
Boyyy youre just a fanboy. Better compare them all irl cause you cant rely on these tests especially not on just one. You might wanna check out multiple. In some megaboom sounds better in some the other way round
jbl is very balanced but sounnds somehow too high overall. i like the megaboom 3..not as clear and deep as jbl but definetly better partysound and in general very satisfying.
Ima charge fan through and through, though a lot of things they have done seem bizarre I still want to hear it for myself! Plus I'm liking the new little aesthetic details! =) gonna use a coupon to snat up charge 4 but which color I still dont know
@@nikivanev492 it sounds very good with well balanced bass. It's just like everything is perfect. No doubt about it. But I think you should save money and get a charge 3.
@August McLaren He can't give you the "best" speaker, he can only tell you what he prefers. Maybe you keep your speaker inside on top a shelf all the time, in which case the Charge 4 is better. Maybe you use your speaker outdoors a lot and you need 360° sound in a very durable speaker, in which case you would opt for a Megaboom 3
