I have tried both and I prefer the Flip-6. The sound is clearer whereas the Charge-5 sounded a bit mushy. The sound of the Flip-6 is just absolutely awesome and can be very loud without major distortion. I use it as a "pillow radio" and to carry around in the house and bathroom, when I am getting ready in the morning. For this purpose, it is absolutely perfect.
I think c5 is a bit mushy maybe because of the ring around it thats why the tweeter doesn’t sound as clean as the flip 6 by the way i have the charge 5 good bass but yeah flip 6 is cleaner sound 👍🏼
Bought the charge 5 and flip 6. Only thing I dont like about the charge 5 is that theres no lanyard or handle which i think is helpful when moving around a lot
Just bought the Flip 6 after hearing it at best buy vs all others. Only the Bose soundlink have a similar sound but for more money. All other speakers suffer the same problem of too much boomy bass and not enough flat mids. The Flip 6 don't have that problem yet the bass is still good enough.
in the table results you have a mistake on the Battery Type, both are "Li-ion" cells with 18650 cells package. The JBL GO 3 has a Li-Polymer Battery. There is not such thing as "Li-ion Polymer" those are 2 different types of cells mate ....
First off great video, thank you for sharing. Wonderful home as well, looks very comfortable. I agree with you playing the classical music, I enjoyed the 5 more. However, when you were at 100% volume in the atrium, the 6 was absolutely pounding the lows compared to the 5! I actually had to rewind a few times to be sure I was hearing properly. I have high quality 50mm driver headphones on with a nice DAC so that's not an issue. Thanks again from the states, cheers!
Thank you my friend your comment made my day. You are the second person who mentioned the flip 6 bass presence from distance. I wish you a happy weekend from the UK ✌️
I was surprised too. And impressed. But is this really the case or is this negligible? I recently got the charge 5 and noticed it does reduce the bass at high volume. Although I can't complain about the sound, I'll like to know how different they are with bass on high volume.
Wow ok, I am shocked. In my opinion flip 6 plays better in the bass and deeper. --> Sounds better than Charge 5. But the charge 5 had better clarity in the highs. My winner: Flip 6
I am really impressed with the Flip 6. For it's size/form factor, weight and only being about 10-15% lower in volume is really not that far off the Charge 5 for sound. The 5 is noticeably larger to carry around and needs a bigger footprint when putting it down. Considering I can carry 2 flips for almost the same weight and size as the Charge 5., have a stereo pair and t the Flip6 will out-perform the single Charge 5. 😝 The pricing is all over the place though. (tempted to get two 5's , the X3's are too big for my needs) and both are available for $25-30 less or more then a year ago. I picked up a refurbed 6 for a lot less and looking to get another 6 now. It will be the same price as one 5 with an second refurb. I don't mind sending them back until I get a good one. 🤣
I prefer the bass and lower frequency of the Flip 6. Instead of the bigger battery to charge phones, JBL should have gone with bigger speakers on the Charge. That would make the sound a lot better being that the Charge 5 is a bigger. 30 watts for the woofer is nothing great. 35 to 40 watts would be more like it if you cut down the battery size.
Flip 6 has a warmer, better rounded out sound at the lower volume settings... Charge 5 better bass at the higher sound... Flip 6 is more portable and not sure if the Charge now has EQ control like the Flip... However, overall I think Charge 5 just takes it.
I have both speakers and can deny that claim, the charge 5 has more bass. Maybe you said that because the charge has an eq that it didnt have when you made that comment
That's cuz the the Powerpuff girls theme is in a genre known as drum n bass. I only just discovered this after years in the EDM scene😂 world's a fun place innit. Cheers! 🍻
@1:36 the flip 6 actually sounds more bassy than the charge 5. 🤔@2:55 the charge 5 has a nicer wave guide for the tweeter. and the orientation of the drivers when it sits flat seems better for the charge 5 but may also cause a lot of baffle reflection if you sit it back on a flat surface. but it's interesting they chose to orient the speakers at such a different angle to the reflective surfaces.
I have 4 flip 5's two charge 5's and a boombox 2. Sound awesome when in partyboost mode. My only problem is that in partyboost mode it turns the bass down on the boombox 2.
Thanks for the comparison. From a distance at 1:37 at 100% volume it seems that the Flip-6 is better than the Charge-5, strange or maybe you made a mistake? I need a portable great speaker that is under 1kg and is the best of the best, my choice is JBL FLIP-6 over the charge-5.
In my ears the flip 6 has less boomy bass, but it seems to fall a bit short in treble. But you can also adjust the EQ and of course you could buy two flip6 and pair them, for increased output and stereo seperation.
@@OlavAlexanderMjelde If I go with a budget to buy 2x FLIP6 then better to get 2x Charge 5. here the price is only 15 euro difference between Flip6 and charge5.
@@betruly7894 here the flip 6 costs 1050 NOK and the charge 5 is 1490 NOK. So thats about 105 dollar and 149 dollar. However this weekend a shop has 20% on eveything, so I can then get the flip 6 for 84 USD and the charge 5 for 119USD. So I am not 100% sure what to do.. I am thinking that my kid at 5 can more easy carry the flip 6. But the charge 5 has more battery and more oomph... But as you say, its also possible to buy 2 x flip 6.... :P I am kindof thinking that the strap and thinner flip 6 is easier for the kid. Its also lower weight. Price isnt really that important, even though the charge.5 is more expensive, it does have powerbank, more bass, so it kindof justifies the difference in price I think. But then sacrifices on portability :P But yeah, 2 x flip 6 is also a viable option and will be just slightly more expensive than 1 x charge 5.
5 hours to charge charge 5? Mine it's charging in exactly 3 hours. Try to use an 18w adaptor because supports 18w charging. I guess you are using an 10w adaptor.
Hi shak, My jbl charge 5 sound is not really clear and sounds distored a tiny bit at 40% volume, is this the same with yours and is mine damaged? It only plays distored with some tracks tho, And does your charge 5 delays when connecting to bluetooth after turning it on? like 3 seconds until it connects, Compared to my jbl xtreme 2 it has faster auto connecting to BT, Please help me if my charge 5 is OEM or Damaged My SN is TL btw.
Hi my speaker has no distortion at any volume, if you can tell me what song, I can record it at 40% volume and send u it. about Bluetooth connection speed 3 seconds seem about right but I can also record it so u can compare.my SN is GG
@@shaktastik People Kungs & The Knocks is the song that distores on the vocals but not alot, just noticed it when i compared it to my bose revolve 1st gen and my jbl charge 5 kinda sounds more detailed with the tiny tiny bit of distortions, It just doesnt distores that much but sound is not really that clear in some pop musics but audio phile musics on 40% volume is really clear.
