Every May people gather in Lake Placid New York at the homestead of John Brown to celebrate his legacy of resistance. In 2013 comedian and activist Dick Gregory spoke to the crowd about what John Brown means to him.

Love to listen to Dick Gregory between laughing and his heartfelt words I can only be thankful for coming across his videos in 2015. He also has a mole in his left eye like me I knew I had to listen 🤗

John Brown! He was consumed by hatred for the injustice of slavery and he sacrificed everything to end it. Still got a lot of work to do but he kicked it off.
