Hi I just want to thank you. This is by far one of the best reviews! Unlike others, you made a real analisys of what actually comes out of the speaker. Messuring and explaining how to interpret the results. We need more speakerreviews done like this!
Tested both and flip 6 was the clear winner. Didn‘t expect but at low-mid volumes it sounded much better and even got more bass. It’s mich more portable and the EQ is doing a great job too.
Thanks for the review. indeed Charge 5 is a clear winner. but for light traveling Flip 6 will be better. especially if you have a lot of wigs to add to your luggage
Can‘t agree, tested both and for me the flip 6 sounded mich better at low and mid volumes. With some eq settings the sound is so much better than the charge. Mich warmer, more bass and clearer. Of course it’s not that loud line charge 5 though
@@worldtrippincouple1991 cool. from my experience it also depends which music you're playing. for example epic music will sound better on the Charge. but perhaps with other types you're right.
Great video! That EQ is doing tons of work on the flip 6. I think one of the best small speakers to travel with. By the way just purchased a Stockwell II, I still need and use an Aux port and based on your videos it was one of the best speakers. Thank you Alan! love what you do here.
Flip 6 is surprisingly good but ultimately can't overcome the size difference with the charge 5. The version variations put me off JBL (not to mention price) but the tuning is decent on both of these. I wonder if JBL will continue to implement its eq on speakers going forward or if it was just an experiment with the flip 6. 🤔 Thanks for another awesome comparison! 😁👍👏
Honestly the Flip 6 is the decent one I've heard in the JBL's lineup since 2017 it is Loud , Such extreme bass for its size .. the only thing negative about is its harshness at max vol but there is an EQ in the App which you could use to reduce the Harshness ... Overall it is Well Done!
Great comparison. Just got my charge 5 for outdoor use, needs three months to decided flip 6 or charge 5. still motion plus is suitable for my room never go outdoor 😂. Just wondering why this channel not getting 100k subs yet 😞. Hope you never stop comparing 🔊 sir. God bless you 🙏
Damn your audio sounds dope sometimes but it's not consistent maybe you do post processing differently in different videos. Your vocal sounds so good in this video. Listening through motion+ the sound edge is so good. I just wonder why your vocal isn't always that high quality ...
@@alanrossreviews yeah, clips are very important part of sound test samples ... you're getting into big sound big speaker ... how you talking about big speaker big sound ... you will definitely love big speaker with big sound ...
Your pointing to the left side of the charge 5 when talking about the woofer but a fact is that the woofer is actualy on the right on the charge 5 unlike the flip 6.🙃
Hey Alan, another great in depth review, just a heads up on the partybox front,i have seen your reviews on the w-king t9 and the soundcore rave and indeed i purchased the t9 and was disappointed with the lack of deep bass so returned it to amazon.Yesterday i purchased my very first JBL product as i always thought they were overpriced and that other cheaper speakers were actually better....I purchased the partybox 100 for £179 from currys, thats £100 off the normal retail price of £279 and i have to say....WOW! amazing speaker, lots of punchy deep bass, massive soundstage, clear mids /highs and basically blows everything else in this category away, just a thought whist it is on offer you may want to compare this superb speaker.Cheers
I hope that Charge 5 gets the EQ too. That said, the Flip 6 sounds great for what it is. My Flip 5 has pretty much fallen into disuse ever since getting the Charge.
The flip 6 definitely sounds more of a screecher in the highs at high volumes. The charge 5 seems more even and smoothed out in the sound throughout the volumes.
Hey Alan, i watch your videos for a long time, and i really enjoy what you do. I'm having a problem, and I can't find any answer for it, can you still NFC pair one old wking D8 with one of the new ones, with different chip and different buttons. Please help Alan.....
@@alanrossreviews thank you so much. Because i have the first one that came out in the 2019, i believe it's the same you also have, with the buttons separated and without microSD slot. You just saved me so much pain, thank you man !!!
Hi Alan! Do you think I should get the Charge 5 or the Sony XB33? They are same price here in Argentina, yet they are expensive so I want to make a good one-time purchase. Thank you!
Great quality work as always mate, any recommendations for good out of the box sound speaker for lower volumes ( under 50%) with an aux? Have a great weekend
@@alanrossreviews I'm pretty ignorant on the topic, just maxing ones and reducing the others or you recommended a more trial and error tactic? Thanks for your time and help
I have a suggestion since in my country this speaker has gain some popularity for being budget friendly for its power and sound. Can you please check out the "Awei Y669"?
looking for a mid end upgrade (have acoustic solutions mega blast) and FINALLY a channel that plays something similar to hardcore (EDM) to compare, thx :D
@@camilohernandez17 I want it for my Flip 5s and Charge 5 so badly! I feel like they are going to do it because in the app update it says "EQ adjustment not available for other models yet" so it must be coming ;)
@@alanrossreviews Pretty much a slam dunk. Took the flip 6 over both the charge 3 and 4 in the last video, but this was an easy choice for me, no question.
I got the chance to get the Flip 6 for 125€ or the charge 5 for 134€. Which would you recommend me? It needs to be able to be carried in a jacket pocket.
The JBL PartyBox lineup worths all the money IMO but their portable speaker lineup are just overpriced as speakers that costs half or sometimes a fraction arguably sounds better of the lot.
In my country the Anker soundcore flare 2 is currently priced at $70 and the JBL flip 6 is around $125. Which one would you recommend flare 2 or jbl flip 6? Sir, I'm really in a dilemma which one to buy! Can you please suggest.
Or for similar total size and weight, get two flip 6 and get even better sound quality at the same volume and when paired in stereo, amazing soundstage and immersion when placed strategically. Which is made possible in a wide range of listening situations as their small size allows great flexibility of placement. Only for deep base songs you cannot get around the need for bigger speakers. As a stereo pair very impressed, my old UE booms in stereo sound like utter crap in comparison, my Flip 3 stereo pair can't touch them either for clarity and base. All same size.
Yeah, ~8 years ago and with stereo, they somehow sounded 'good' back then (compared to other junk then) but we've sure come a very very long way since!
Point being, the UE Boom taught me that two small speakers in stereo are much more than the sum of the parts, and the formfactor allowing optimal placement in a wide range of locations/situations. As a pair the flip 6 are amazing to me. I kinda feel everyone looking at a single speaker are missing a big life hack of music enjoyment, having owned too many non-stereo pairable Bluetooth speakers, I take two 0,5kg with excellent mid volume base to a single 1kg one with a bit more extention (depending on type of music one listens to, then get two 1kg ones instead of a 2kg one ;) )
I have the Flip 5 and was thinking about replacing it with a Charge 5. But now I'm thinking maybe there's something better, considering I will just leave it on the desk. I don't want something huge, but maybe something that that sounds better since it doesn't have to be portable. I have the Flip to take with me, or might sell it and get a Tribit for that. Recommendations?
@@alanrossreviews Doesn't need to be portable, though nothing too large. I want to put it on a small table, so probably nothing bigger than say, a foot. I don't need anything over, say $200.
oh boy cant see that any time soon, im not personally that big on the uboom and such different form factors. ive got a few vids planned but it isnt one of them to be honest.
@@alanrossreviews I genuinely believe that Uboom would be able to resist your abuse.😂 So I suggest that you include it in your next video when comparing Flip 6 to other speakers.😉
