it sounds pretty good through my 30 dollar computer speakers! When I was a young man shopping for speakers, I was torn betweeen L100's and Klipsch Heresy's. They both were just released- circa 1972. I couldn't afford either, but I could afford the JBL Lancer 99's. They cost $250 each. Still have them. But years later, when I had some money, I bought about 5 pairs of the L100's- the early ones with the black script behind the grilles- plus a few pairs of the studio monitors 4311. Also spares for the L100's and Lancer 99's. I love ebay! And I came across a pair of Klipsch Heresy's 1's. And once in a while I put on an old album like Willy and the Poor Boys or Ziggy Stardust.

hi i am a newbie to this audio tech and terminaolgy . thanks for doing this video, can i ask you or other people here , if i buy a music streamer i presume it will have a dac built in , if i thought a seperate dac was better how do I, or do I turn off the dac built into the streamer .

I was not a fan of the original L100s apart from their ability to go loud. I found them colored, aggressive and crude... and they couldn't sound stage worth a damn. Listening fatigue city . These L100 Classics however are so superior in every way that they deserve their own appearance and model designation rather than trying to make them look like the old L100s.

*I TOO HAVE A PAIR OF JBL-100 BUT I WILL SAY THIS ABOUT THEM, IT'S BEST TO HAVE AN EQ ALONG WITH THEM, AS THEY'RE GREAT STUDIO SPEAKERS AND YOU CAN GET LISTENING FATIGUE...JUST SAYING, THEY'RE EXTREMELY BRIGHT OR VERY CLEAR IS!*

Sounds a tad bright through my B&O E8 3rd gen ear buds.

Amazing sound..do you think them too bright and fatiguing? Seems that is a common complaint.

Don't know who's that JBL guy, but this young amateur should launch a production line. What ? He did already ? So same for McIntosh I guess :)

음....듣기가 아주 좋습니다~~ 차 한잔과 음악이면 Ok~

음. 좋네요. 소리란 개인취향이라서 사람마다 다를텐데(좋아하는 음악 장드도 다 제각각일 것이구요) 제게는 MA-9000 + JBL L100이 MA-9000 + B&W 805 D3보다 선호됩니다. 유튜브로 들어보는게 한계가 있기는 하지만, 그래도 시스템별로 같은 곡으로 시연해주면 조금이나마 기기 특성을 가늠해볼 수 있지 않을까 생각이 듭니다.

JBLs ain't hi-end speakers.

Too bright, too fragile, too stressful. I recommend changing the amplification to a more serious Japanese setup, Luxman or Accuphase.

Always rhe same jazz- vocal tingeling bullshit. Play blacksabbath and electro, to test the speakers.
