Lifesaver! Thanks mate. Instructions start at 1:33 Hold mute button for about 7 seconds until wifi light turns off. Then hold both mute and power button for about 20 seconds. Then power up, and re-set up the device through Google Home.
THANK YOU I HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH THIS SINCE FOREVER. I switched WiFis completely and ever since it didn’t want to work so I left it there for MONTHS. Now that I found this video BOOM finished connecting it and everything within minutes. THANK YOU
Awesome video! Thank you so very much! We are moving and found this speaker and wouldn’t you know the “reset” option wouldn’t RESET!!! How frustrating. You saved this speaker’s life 😂😂😂

FINALLY HAD SUCCESS !!!! For me I kept it plugged in and turned on 1.hold Bluetooth and plus in at same time until it turns off. Release buttons 2. Press power button, (mine didn’t turn on fully with little dotted lights) , hold volume plus and play buttons until it turns off, release. PRESS POWER BUTTON , sit back and breathe a big sigh of relief the WIFI should now be blinking , speaker makes a soft noise, your phone will chime finding the new device FINALLY!!! Hope this helps you out ! Anyone wanna buy 10 of these 😂😂
You are right, the other videos were telling us to hold buttons that did not work. Your information helped resolve the change of WiFi issue. This video absolutely helped me, your tips worked thank you very much!
I could not duplicate your results, However the folks over at JBL (Harman) instruct customers to use a paper clip and while the unit is on to do a single press and release of that tiny reset button located under the flap next to the the charging port on the Link 20. You can actually hear it click and watch the device reboot. Did you use a paper clip?
Turns out mine was a lot more simple. Just powering it off and back on. Who knew? Thanks for the video anyway. If I need that actual reset, i now know what to do.
Ian, thx for the video. You almost nailed it, but some of us still have issues with the JBL Link 20 that aren't always resolved with this solution, unfortunately. There's a solution for those few of us, luckily! Maybe you can share this solution in another video, 'cause this one's hard to find on the web..? So what I did was, box off, unplug the energy, HOLD MUTE and plug it again. Now, hold MUTE while the box initializes, and hold, and hold, and hold. All the way until you see the WiFi blinking and the 4 lights went off. Then (and only then) release it! If all was good, the box will now have its default name, BT is off, etc. Also the account (and former wifi source!) that was connected to the device before, is now removed, which I think it might be why the Google Assistant started to work again. Pfew, finally...
Hi Iann .My Link 20 does not reset. Anytime I press mute for a few seconds a red lite on the first dot above the power button appears then I press the power button without releasing the mute and it shuts down without powering on until I released it and pressed again but what obtain is just the four front lights blink and not a Wi-Fi signal light. Have you figure out a different way of resetting ?. Thanks !
Have you ever had the issue where there’s a random ticking sound on the speaker when not used that no matter how many times I reboot the device it’s persistent?
I really appreciate your video but allow me to share my concern with you. I have a portable JBL link which I cannot connect to bleutooth and I would like to reinstall it to reset everything to zero

Thanks so much. After the last update it's been giving me so much issues. It shows up on the app but whenever you click on it. It says you're not on the same Wi-Fi network and on the device it asks to log on through the app. Even try deleting it and unpairing it
I went through your suggestions and pressed all the buttons that you directed. However, my JBL Link 20 still wouldn't pair. At this point I went to Play Store on my Android device and then updated my Google Home app then opened the app. I then went through the process of setting up Google Home which led me through the process of reconnecting to my new Wifi. After this process, my JBL Link 20 worked...maybe the "key to success" is updating and/or resetting Google Home so that it is set up to the new Wifi (and the JBL Link 20 as a default connection process through the Google Home setup).
I followed all the steps twice and when it starts back up the 4 dots on top pulse and a minute later the wifi flashes it doesn't pulse like yours does in this video, any ideas?
Well i tried it. But in the google home app it keeps saying this: chromecast found: Would you like to setup softapp_ But its unable to setup to the wifi it keeps saying
This is odd I haven't had that issue, however I have had one where it dosnt want to turn off and so far it seems random, but I still think there is a trigger of some sort that locks the speakers
I’m having from similar to others in the comments. My mute button acts as the power button so when holding it down, the whole thing shuts off but the only way to turn it back on is by plugging in to a charger. I am stuck in the mute mode because i can’t unmute nor does the reset work or factory reset.
Did this but when trying to set up via Google Home app, I'm getting a message that the JBL Link 10 needs to be activated first before being set up. Nooooo clue that this means. Has anyone figured that out??
Ok so for everyone posting comments about it apparently there is a glitch that causes some devices to power off while pressing the mute button. I currently do not have a solution for this as neither of my speakers have this problem. If I find a fix I will update you all

@@rrubalc I have the same problem. I tried the instructions in the video several times and it didn't work on my Link 20. Mine is brand new and it turns on and doesn't make a sound and even won't connect to Google Home and wifi. The wifi lights on the front just blinks slowly and only the top 2 bars are lit.
When you hold them the first time it will turn off then when you do it again it should turn on, I will say just keep trying it if it dosnt work or leave it for a bit and try again, they do seem to be a bit finicky
