Thanks for the video bro. 710 really sounds good. It was never a fair fight for me as the PB just sounds stronger and clearer. A comparison at max volume could be interesting
I had the chance to buy both speakers and decided for the soundboks, because: • Gets louder, has more upper bass at Bass+ Mode (To admit, the deep bass at lower volumes is much better on 710) • Is way more portable because of the light wooden construction and aluminum frame • Has a built in battery, so that you can listen to your music anywhere in the world • Possibility to take the speaker everywhere because of the optional Backpack • Soundboks is better for big Partys with 100+ people outside because its more robust body.
Listening to the audio comparison for the speakers in this video through headphones, the JBL sounds fuller overall, while the SB sounds much brighter. I like the clarity because of how bright the SB is, but it did seem to lack the more overall full sound which the JBL seemed to deliver. For me personally and strictly judging only from what I heard in this video through my headphones, I found the JBL sound to be better overall with depth and fullness. Cheers!
I have A soundboks, and this is NOT how it sounds. In indoors mode it sounds bad. But if you have it on the normal mode, or the bass+ mode or A custom eq, it sound soooo much better. I also think it sounds better than the jbl, because when you turn the volume above 70% on the jbl, it starts to sound really bad
Some of you crack me up here. Ever been to a concert up close with massive speakers lol the sound hitting your face and chest almost taking your breath away. What's more fun. Just clean sound or something that moves your soul. I'll leave it at that.
@@mountain_grizzly2732 I know lmao me and my mate are huge jbl fans he has a 1000 and my 710 is coming tommorow we have owned all jbls.. I thought you was saying the sound box was the soul moving one I was about to laugh
Of course the jbl sounds better when the soundboks is in indoor mode, indoor mode just removes all base lol. I’d like to hear them both at max volume, outside with either power mode or bass boost mode on the soundboks for a more fair comparison. Jbl wins when it’s in its element, now let’s put it in the soundbok’s element!
The soundboks is great for carrying a compact powerhouse on the go but the reason it's able to go so loud because it really focus on upper and mid bass with just a little bit of deep bass the 710 is really just ment for small partys with good sound and Hella deep bass😅 but overall nice review 👍

Noce👌As a portable speaker it's pretty much the more convenient choice between those two👍 Just ordered the XP-500 and XP-700 I'm reviewing all of these box style speakers
@@TheAscendedTechNinja the Sony ones, very good! Maybe you have also heard about Sony XG500, the alternative to Boombox 2 ? XP 500 and XP 700 sound better than XG500, but this speaker is the direct competitor of the Boombox 2 :) I really like Sony products, that's why I am looking forward to your channal :)
I want to get the JBL 710 so bad but the portable battery is the selling point for me. I like the speakers for my car, which doesn't have the best electrical setup. Which means I have to go with the SB3. If the 710 had portable battery easy purchase.
not a fair sound test if the PB has bass boost on at level 1 (the deep n clean serting), while the SB is on the Indoor setting. either "Power" or "Bass+" would be more fair settings, or at least turn off Bass Boost on the PB. Otherwise, thanks for the comparison.
@@seldom2bseen an apples-to-apples live comparison is far more valuable to buyers than your statement...it's the reason the video was made to begin with.
Isnt a good comparison because the soundboks has 0 base at indor and is way quieter than in power or bass + I own it myself and it really is way lauder and has way more base in power mode than in indor
Nice review. Soundboks has really great sound but maintaining the battery for a good life is work, you need to keep charging it every few days so that it doesn't drain from non usage. I had both Soundboks 2 and 3 but eventually returned primarily due to the work involved in maintenance. Secondly the battery has some issues and its hard to get in touch with Soundboks folks. My need is for indoor house parties with family and friends. It sounds like 710 fits that requirement. Appreciate the deep comparison here.
Follow up comment. Purchased the 710, it’s a different beast. If you love bass go for 710. I have no worries about charging and maintaining battery life anymore. Soundboks quality of balanced sound is great. One thing I find annoying is lack of equalizer in JBL app, hope they release someday
I don't know what you are saying there. I am using my soundboks several years now and barely give a damn about the batteries and they still seem to run as long as they did 2 years ago. And I am using it regularly. Also the Soundboks team is known for an extraordinary Customer Service. Sounds like you just had really, really bad luck
I have the soundboks 3 and have the same issue. My fix has been to unplug the battery when not using it, seems the speaker pulls power on its own even when off
I know that you said you needed to play the soundboks in indoor. But from the test I'm liking the 710 a bit more. But again I imagine I'd change my mind if I heard the soundboks in person.
Yeah, my sound critiques apply to the real world sound. What you hear through your headphones or phone isn’t 100%. But I try my best to get them to sound as accurate as I can.
@@oswaldozavala8182 The 710 doesn't play lower but it has more Output in those frequencies. I would probably really like it, if it wouldn't feel so cheap and if it sounded more linear. You know, I hate this dumb "JBL Signature Sound" with too mich Bass, missing mids and sharp treble. I'd wish for JBL to actually make a good sounding speaker for once. But of course, that's subjective and you may have other expectations of what a speaker should sound like.
I have the soundboks gen 3 and It's a great speaker for beach/wood/park party's. But what I miss is deep bass. It does not go deep, but it can go really loud and stay clear. I love it! But im going to buy a HIFI stero to listen to at home. Like music is meant to be.
I agree. I think the soundboks is amazing for parties and so on. But in my opinion the sound itself is not very good. And yes it really lacks deep bass. I would never use the soundboks, if i wanted to relax and listen to some music on my own. I would totally use it for parties though, and I think it is a great speaker for that.
Why would you ever use the soundboks in the indoor mode. I mean. If the recording didn't distort for the partybox, from the soundboks it surely won't. It's wayyy thinner.
I have a soundboks And you can’t bye some third party light and a USB adapter to a battery. and I have tried to connect 7 soundbox together on max volume without any problems
I definitely prefer the JBL710, modern design, beautiful lights, easy to transport, sounds harder and with a good equalizer it can give you amazing trebles. But the best part is the unparalleled, deep and fantastic bass that only JBL has and that soundbok will never offer.
Jbl all the way!..this guy just picks small crap out of great speakers..there are much better reviewers out there...he is a "I love it and I hate it"! By the way Soundboks is more of a mid tone box..to me junk if it can't put out the lows!
so if i want deep bass to shake up my neighbors house if my speaker is outside a few feet away from the side of the house wall the jbl 1000 is the best one vs the soundboks 3 and the diamondboxx xl 3???? i currently have a bumbboxx v3s but i want louder than that! any suggestions would be great! thanks in advance!
I tried doing a sound test with the sb in power mode. But the lows kept distorting the mic. The mic couldn’t take it. I would have had to go in and really mess with the EQ in post. I try to not touch the EQ in post to get the most raw sound
@@GYMCADDY that's a fair disclosure, but it leaves open the possibility that the SB can either A) outdo the 710 in bass, AND/OR B) the SB cant boost bass without distorting it.
It would be cool if you would be able to go somewhere when it’s open and you won’t get a noise complaint and like turn it all the way up and see like which one you can hear the furthest distance away that would be cool
@@seldom2bseen I listened to the 1000 and 710 and the sound difference is not big, if you don't need dj pad and light effects of the 1000 the 710 is a better deal
Portability makes Soundboks the better pick. The ability to pair multiple speakers is a plus. If you don’t care for battery power, the Marshall Woburn II has very good sound for a smaller cheaper price comparison.
The most important question for me and I’m buying soundboks gen 3, about dimensions, can that speaker be able to used as carry on for travel on airplane?
Hey there thanks for these awesome videos! Do you have any plans to review the new Everse 8 against these? Similar price point, way more portable and apparently quite loud but I imagine not nearly as full a sound as the 710. I’d love to know how that compares to the Soundboks3 or Partybox 710 or 310.
@@sonny9546 normally I’d agree but the spec’s volume is so unbelievably different here. I think you’ll find the volume and throw of the Everse will maintain differently.
I just recently sold my beloved partybox on the go speaker due to financial hardship... I wish I didn't because I miss playing music on it. JBL has been good to me since the first FLIP and CHARGE came out. HOW ABOUT SHARING ONE OF YOUR PARTYBOXES???? LOL
I own the 710, but I'm a party guy and I'm always number 1 DJ for every party I go to because I have the loud speakers The jbl is a beast with its sound but moving it and it having to be plugged in makes it hard to party with because the party's I go to are in the country so we need alot of extension cords for it People are all about bass but I'd rather have the soundboks for its clarity and because it'd be lighter to carry and it comes with a backpack to move it around easy, it doesn't need to be plugged in which is a plus for me personally but the 710 in the video and in person just sounds amazing, I dont really like the bass that much as I'm more of a rock and metal guy myself, I listen to old school rap like nwa and all that and I'd rather much have the SB for clarity like I said and not for just the bass as it does get overwhelming at times
You are right, but only as lang as you use "Indoor Mode" on Soundboks. If you use "Bass+ mode" on soundboks, the soundboks will show its maximum strength and will have much more and punchier BASS than the PartyBox 710. I've tested both together at 80% volume. To sum up: The Soundboks has more power than the PartyBox 710. But Partybox 1000 has more power than the Soundboks
@@peakz1099 I will stay to my opinion because I have tested both speakers in person and decided to buy Soundboks. Yes, the JBL Partybox 1000 sounds better than the Soundboks. But the JBL Partybox 710 does not have a chance against Soundboks 3. The Soundboks has a more open sound, more upper Bass and gets louder as well!
Great review i have both speakers and a jbl 1000, soundbox is cool for on the go, the 710 is a beast!!!! I think its louder then the sb3 and the bass is crazy! But the 1000 is still the king of bluetooth speakers!
What about the cons? JBL Partybox 710 the bass rolls off at 60% volume. That is very lame. Same with Soundboks, the bass rolls off too soon. I'm not gonna waste money on trash. I want bass all the way to 100% volume. What a disgrace. Modern speakers are so bad.
Should you use both of these speakers outdoors and why you using bass boost on the party box 710 you said that the bass boost sounds very overpower the mids and highs
Can we get some frequency sweeps WITH DB METER TESTS app and tablet mic is not accurate really .... the real measure of efficiency power and box design Something like a Dayton Audio UMM-6 audio mic analyzer where you can analyze frequency and db
I've been trying to find new bluetooth headphones for like 1/2 year now,and i've watched countless bluetooth headphones, most of these reviews point me to 3 headphones,The Sony xm3(Highs are muddy),the Bose 700 and QC 35 ii(Both compressed and a bit unbalanced) So i decided to joined the r/headphones discord server,i asked a couple of people and they all led me to one bt headphone, the AKG N700nc M2,they seem a lot more balanced than the others and nearly no one has realised in the YT community it,it seems like a hidden gem waiting to tower over the xm3's(or maybe i'm overreacting lol) I'm getting these at christmas and it would be the world to me if you made a review about it... PS:Loving the videos and keep up the good work!!!
I thought my 310 was good but this just took it to another league. Unfortunately I just about get enough use from my 310 so an upgrade for me really wouldn't benefit me whatsoever.
I love the 710 hands down, let's not forget you can get yourself a mobile battery small and compact called solar generator which is even better and can last even longer than the Soundboks ie if you want to. The Jbl is beautiful with those RGB lights the size common meh it is sick. Jbl is awesome.
Gymcaddy, or anybody who owns a JBL Partybox 710...Please help ASAP. Does any of your guys Partybox 710's make a quiet white noise when the music is paused? It doesnt get louder when I turn it up, and it doesnt affect the audio. Is this normal in the partybox series? Thanks.
just wonna point out that power eq is the default for the soundboks so compering it with indoors eq that is, yes ment for indoors, but arent really used (for me at least´) using the stock power eq would make the bass much more pronounst and then there is even bass+ that make the soundboks sound more like a partybox with that more punchy bass
Quality and sound is so much better with the sound box JBL is a good brand what you want find JBL in a concert and you won't find JBL in a club because the sound just doesn't match idj and never would ever use JBL well I'm doing club and concert DJ bl710 starts to extort when the volume is past 76% I also have the JBL 310 which sound much better than the 710 at higher volumes so next time you decide to comment know your history know what you're doing know what you're saying know what you're talkin about
How does the partybox stack up to the Sony mhc v7d or v73d … I measured decibel reading on Sony for 120 decibel was wondering if party box 710 goes louder ? … also looking for a new speaker for house parties why don’t these speakers get compared to PA speakers like RCF which is a pretty good brand I found for around similar prices which is suited to me that wants to go loud and not compromise sound quality ??? Please someone help
The party box is over expensive for what it is sadly, the bass is muddy and the highs are just ok, overall the soundboks sounds aoy better and for the price more worth it
@@GYMCADDY The main reason why I want to make the change is that I have a route and a construction near my house, and although the 900N with the ANC and a little music blocks a lot of sound, it is still listening to a lot of external noise. And that's my main reason for making the switch, thank you so much for answering my question above.
