@@Joe_Mama.also_YTHandlessuckass no no I’m serious....water is tougher even than some cement walls because the Bluetooth receiver is completely surrounded if underwater, which is not the case generally for walls
@@Joe_Mama.also_YTHandlessuckass the receiver looking at online jbl's teardown it's in the middle of the speaker nex to batteries and the amp... so it was actually well submerged (even some type of waterproof earbuds to reproduce music while swimming have a built in memory and don't use Bluetooth)
Some people really think that when it says "waterproof", you can put it underwater, no. Its just just has minimal water resistance, for example if you use it in the rain or when you accidentally drop it into water and quickly take it out, this goes for all speakers, phones, watches etc
But the extreme isn't even "waterproof" it is "splash proof" and I think that that makes the situation even worst. If I wrote something wrong please correct me :D
That's not exactly true, my watch is rated for 100m submersion and many waterproof tech products are rated for 1 or 2 meters underwater for 30 minutes. What you're referring to is water resistant products or splash proof products, but that's an entirely different thing to waterproof. Some of the Sony Xperia phones for instance are able to go underwater for half an hour. Usually a rule of thumb is if your phone has exposed ports you shouldn't take it underwater but if the ports are covered they're likely made to be able to go underwater for at least 30 minutes
That's what IP norms are for. To distinguish between _"yeah, you can use it in the rain"_ and _"this will survive 6 hours 100 meters deep in saltwater"._
I think the fact that he layed the speaker down ever so gently onto the water and it immediately rolled forward and flooded its sound projectors is extremely hilarious.
I remember when I was at the lake and my friends jbl rolled off a cliff jumping spot and we all just watched it fall into the water like, “fuck, there it goes.” Hits the water, goes dead silent, and dosent immediately resurface. About 5 seconds later it popped up to the surface still playing music. That day made me have some more respect for jbl🤣
We had one of these and my dad *LITERALLY* put it in the water just because it was advertised as "waterproof". Oddly enough it still works fine to this day though 😅
Ey can I tell y’all something, when I was walking home this one time, a speaker just like this literally fell out of a car window and I picked it up thinking, “wow is this a cheap speaker or is this legit?”
