So there are multiple reasons they did this fight again. Mainly because the original was extremely flawed and inaccurate and the second one just felt mean spirited. This debate is what sparked death battle as a series to begin with and they wanted to do it the most accurately they could. Now they have a whole team working on the episodes while those early ones were for the most part one guy.

Anyone who remembers that Justice League cartoon where Superman delivers his "world of carboard" speech to Darkseid just before pounding the tar out of him? Well, if you don't remember it, you can do a RU-vid search for it & see it for yourself. Anyway, in this DB episode we see Superman making a quick reference to that speech & can understand why he has to maintain discipline that keeps limits on himself. Well, during that same JLA cartoon episode, Superman also said, "But you can take it, can't you big guy? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose & show you just how powerful I really am." Please note the not even Darkseid (literally a god born from the DC Universe itself) did NOT last anywhere near as long as Goku does... Heck, if you think it's broken that he can smell brownies baking from orbit, how about his Super Ventriloquism? It not only appears that Supes can "throw his voice" he actually does it...His voice is actually projected to & emits from the object that he focuses his power on, even from the other side of the galaxy. He can talk to suited astronauts in space without a radio, or speak with another traveler (like another Kryptonian or Green Lantern, for examples) in open space by focusing on the other's eardrums. His telescopic vision is not limited by the speed of light, as he can see things billions of light years away *in real time* as if he was really there. I think comparing Superman to every single Chthonic god of the H.P. Lovecraft multiverse would be about right, except for the big difference that Superman is actually quite fond of us little Earthlings... With two previous battles, Superman is aware of how much Goku can take & a pretty good idea what he can dish out. Supes knows that Goku will keep coming back again & he gets stronger each time he loses. Supes also knows that Goku will not accept Superman at anything less than his best. Heck, Goku even said as much in an earlier DB when Superman was exposed to kryptonite, just after Goku destroyed the radioactive rock. From an earlier DB Superman also knew that the Dragonballs can summon the celestial dragon & he could wish everything back to normal, no matter what happened. As for Goku, he's found the ultimate sparring partner! An opponent that isn't trying to destroy the universe or anything but can still fight like no one else & keeps Goku on the edge of consistent improvement in himself; Goku's entire original concept is someone who is constantly overcoming his own limits, so what better sparring partner can he have other than with someone who has no limits? This is also why Wiz & Boomstick assessed each character to operate when they're at the best, accounting for all of the background lore & history, for a battle with no interruptions or reasons to hold themselves back. No matter how many times we get the same end results, each such fight should only get more entertaining because *Goku gets stronger every time* If the end of the entire multiverse is a side-effect of the battle now, think of how much more awesome the fight can get in the future. Remember, they can always wish everything back to normal. Even a "world of cardboard" can be restored... I find it to be less of an argument to determine who wins, but that each character is being treated with respect for the source materials & face each other, having some fun with respect to each other. If you actually *enjoyed* watching the fight while putting your own ego & fandom aside, *you* are a winner.
@@Alita_Kazami I mean that's great and all but when it comes to the Superman the original poster is referencing (Cosmic Armor/Thought Robot), that version of Superman is a living concept, and that concept is the idea that Superman will always prevail. Goku will thankfully never reach the point where he's a living concept capable of fighting beings that exist on a narrative/meta level which is a good thing because dragonball would become REALLY boring if he did reach that point.
What people don't understand is that Superman isn't broken in HIS verse. It's when you start comparing him to characters in other verses that he seems stupid and op. There are a lot of DC characters that would put Goku on his ass unfortunately

From What ive heard is its debated whether Prime one Million or Cosmic armor which is stronger. Since prime one million was superman at his complete peak after sundipping 15000 years. And cosmic armor was him fusing with ultraman to fight Mandrakk.

And he's still not the strongest version of Superman to exist. There's an Elseworld Superman called Strange Visitor Superman that is literally billions of years old and omnipresent and omniscient. Main Superman WILL get to that point if he lives long enough or there's no reboot, but currently Strange Visitor is the oldest and most powerful.
To be fair, they SHOULD only use Superman from the TV shows fighting against Goku from the cartoon TV shows. Superman from the cartoon TV shows or movies makes more sense than to use the one from the comics

JUst saw Death Battle and Supes won, I was not even mad as I knew this would happen as the continuities of Supes are too many. so this is to be expected. What pissed me off is how people will go for composite Supes but will never do the same for Goku. This time tho the official DC main Supes has a name FRONTIER SUPERMAN. A version where all cannon feats and powers are his making it one true main version of Supes VS Goku!!! with this problem solve I can take the verdict now and be happy about it as we finally get the true representation for both, even if Goku looses. PS. The choice of including CC Goku is fair as it is the main timeline Goku of the anime and manga just gaining exoerience and gwtting stronger thanks to being transported into the DB Heroes verse so in realirt it is now one on one Main Supes Vs Main Goku!!!! This was a more respectful loss. Heres the thing though, i dont think they take fighting speed into consideration. I always thought superman was always the physically stronger fighter while goku was the physically faster fighter and all the other abilities didnt really matter to each other. Id compare this to mike tyson vs bruce lee type debate. The Goku vs Superman debate is destined to happen. Saitama though.....never showed his true strength and speed and thats a character whos written to over power anyone he faces. Im honesty not mad at the outcome because they handled both iconi. Characters respectfully. They definitely knew what they were doing.thre creator is gonna watch this fight and Goku will get a huge boost lol
The issue with the "Superman can't react at his top speed" is that he absolutely can. Otherwise how does he get across the universe in seconds without destroying everything in his path? Goku is a better fighter and has better battle instincts. He got the benefit of the doubt here with a tie, but superman was so fast one time he literally arrived BEFORE he left. Goku is a beast, but superman is written to be unbeatable. Even xeno couldn't help since you can't erase supes from reality. This has never been, and likely will never be a fair fight as DB as a whole just doesn't scale to the first superhero
@nickthehick1986 all I'm saying is superman has never matched goku fighting speed, not even close. Sure superman can fly fast if not even faster. And just because superman can react to it doesn't mean he's fast enough to block several punches and kicks that can land in seconds. Take Spiderman and his spider sense, he can see things coming but he's only able to doge if his body can move faster than the time allowed in between impacts. If you take a faster fighter who's can at least hurt the stronger fighter, most times the faster fighter will win unless he slips up and takes a huge hit. I'm not mad at the outcome but I do think Goku has a bit of an advantage due to how fast he fights with hits that can do damage to superman.

There was a moment where he studied the entire medical course in just minutes so that he could perform surgery on someone (mentioned in the Death Battle video). He can talk with the Flash within Flash time, which is like billions of times faster than light. They are talking so fast, ordinary people just hear a bunch of gibberish. He can even perceive Flash while he's running and we all know how fast Flash is. All I'm saying, is that if he can react at those speeds, then he can fight at those speeds too.
