JCB 1CXT The World's smallest backhoe - Now with tracks! 

I need one of these if for no other reason than it's an awesome piece of equipment. (If they ever make it to the USA, that is.) When we put in our house several years ago, the contractor we hired had a 1CX and I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

The 1CXT is currently not available in the USA as it does not meet the EPA engine legislation. We are currently evaluating this opportunity. I contacted my JCB dealer in Vancouver and they didn't know what a 1cx was!!! They'd never even seen a 3cx sideshift backhoe! This is a fantastic machine from front to back, if only JCB would try selling them.

Thanks fred, jcb Uttoxeter didn't even know what it was !,,,,, its a crying shame it's not light enough to be put behind a landrover, as it would be the answer to most of my problems, low impact, manoeuvrable , very pokey, and shit hot for tight spaces. :/

when it's already a big small machine the cab should be bigger, with plenty of leg room.

I currently own a 3cx offset backhoe in California and I am planning to visit the JCB headqaurters in England. I have been hoping to see this unit available in the USA for sometime. I am holding out from buying a Wacker Nueson mini excavator because of this machine. Is there any projection for when this may be available in the states? Are they working on meeting the EPA requirements.

What would it be like on the Russian Front in winter .

Whats the weight of it? And also the dig depth of it?

Hey haddockface, i think this may be a little different than a JD 450 from forty years ago. New tech, better engines and a skid steer frame (Bobcat to you). Get with the times my man, for they are a changin'.

Firstly, I have always loved, operated and supported JCB equipment. But why have they gone and put in an almost obsolete TIER 3 engine, when their other skidsteers already have the TIER4. Honestly, you present the world with the best equipped, most versatile little machine that has taken years and thousands to develop..............and you throw an out of date engine in it???? Come on Lord Bamford, have a word with you're lads about this!!

Will this be available in the US? And what happened to the wheeled version. It's not even listed on the US site anymore. Can they be sold in the US? And please don't tell me to contact my nearest dealer about it. From the other comments I have seen, the dealer isn't going to know what it is and my closest dealer is more than 4 hours away. I would love to have some info on one though.

JCB 1CXT Backhoe review I have owned a JCB 1CXT Backhoe since 2015 and I have had a mostly positive experience with the Equipment. However I have concluded three main issues with the product’s overall performance. After being given a 15 month warranty on my backhoe, its drive motor functions completely failed directly after 15 months of use and the jcb Trinidad didn't honor the warranty. The drive motor also continued to have consistent leaking problems approximately every 9 to 12 months after. There is no way of conducting an oil change on the drive motor without completely removing it from the machine and the mechanical seals in the drive motor are exposed to debris and the elements as it is not properly secured, therefore resulting in the consistent failure of the drive motor. Another noticeable fault is that the swing box of the machine will constantly leak due to very poor design. Hydraulic cylinders as present in the larger models are better. The swing box is also unreliable and prone to performance failures after only 6 months of use. The air conditioning bracket also has a faulty design casuing it to periodically break approximately every six months. Besides these three major machine failures, the JCB 1CXT works well. Improvements in the areas previously stated will need to be made to enable consumer satisfaction.
