The Mayon 360 Bike Challenge organized by JCI Legazpi is a sportive around the world’s most perfect shaped volcano on June 26, 2022. This long distance organized event, with a participant count of 400 - is the cycling equivalent of running a marathon, which involve completing the same route as the original 84km Mayon 360 Albay Marathon that crosses 3 cities, 7 municipalities, and over 77 barangays in the province of Albay.
This event caters to cycling enthusiasts of all ages from all over the country. Similar to the Mayon 360 Ultramarathon, the centerpiece of this event is the Mayon Volcano which brings in thousands of tourists every month, coupled with the chance to complete the challenge of biking around the region’s world famous volcano, brought in a lot of participants - as riders and enthusiasts have been
limited from joining sports events since the start of the pandemic.
This would greatly benefit the province’s tourism industry as most of our participants outside Bicol would be staying in Legazpi for a minimum of 2 nights, this would be a great chance for them to see what the province has to offer and would benefit our local hotels, tourist destinations and restaurants to gain new customers since the pandemic.
Mayon Volcano dubbed the most perfect coned Volcano in the world, provides a unique and very exclusive venue to bikers making it a one of a kind bike challenge in the world, giving the Philippines a unique venue for sports tourism and providing JCI Philippines a pioneering project not only in the country but in the whole world of Bike Events.
