It sounds different than a modern reissue. The new ones sound stiff, brittle a bit sterile.

Hahahaha!!! YES JESUS CHRIST!!! I love it!! Always have , I have owned a 1984 2204 for 25 years and although I have other amps it is an experience in itself to stand infront of a plexi. Yes it's a plexi a solid state rectified master volume plexi circuit. It's not just a sound it's an experience most of the kids these days have no idea what it means to stand infront of a growling roaring marshall dimed. Nice playing john it's really hard to tame the beast. It's a beast of an amp and demands your undivided attention. You're completely naked when you play an amp like that. Every pick stroke every missed fret every buzz even the radio station frequencies that appear out of nowhere lol Again nice job taming the beast, it really is a fight when you play them balls to the wall like that. But damn they sound SOOOO good and what an experience. thanks john you have inspired me to go wake up my neighbours now
