JD Crowe and The New South- Many A Mile 

Patrick Sky, the composer of "Many A Mile" has left the planet today. R.I.P.

Ohhh, we bluegrass lovers certainly JD and his talented group. What an outstaying individual J D was and…still is! A wonderful man with a talent we all would die for. Lord above, would you give his wonderful wife and kids this wonderful man had for his family and all of we who enjoyed him and his wonderful talents!! Rest with God, JD!!!

Wassen is gold. His lead is truly worthy of the New South.

There have been many "New South's" - all have been outstanding! Ricky - one of the greats!

This is a true legend of bluegrass music . I love his blue chip thumb picks too !

Ricky Wassen is a terrific lead singer. I like the way he can lead with and octave lower base note in a vocal it's a unique touch.

J D did some tasteful banjo on this. Great version. I just saw Josh Williams and Dustin Pyrtle sing this in a hallway jam. Also a great version.

Ron Stewart is one of the best banjo pickers around , but DANG I love to hear him fiddle ... GOOD STUFF !!!!!

Who’s slapping on the bass?

Many a Mile has beautiful melody. To substitute repetitive, generic bluegrass dreck for that melody is a crime.
