I lost my job and my friends were moving in a positive direction in their careers. I was a little envious because I'm not where I want to be. So, I took my feelings and got a job, and I'm making career goals. I'm going back for my Master Degree, buy a house within four years and try to get into a management position at a hospital as an administrator. Use jealousy as a motivation, and if your friend has something that you wish to strive for; go for it.

I can see what Tamar and Jeannie meant in this conversation although Tay came off a little brash. Its true, you can't put everyone in your "friend category" but I have had instances where like Jeannie mentioned, something happened and I felt a close friend was a little jealous. Its human nature to feel jealous or insecure. As long as the person doesn't try to sabotage you or bring you down about your accomplishments or outright throw shade or hate, I can understand. I have learned to not talk so much or share details with everyone all the time.

I agree I liked her more when she was on dwts, because I feel like she had to become more docile and calm, her personality is her personality, and I understand that, however I wondered with everything she went through on dwts and the process of the the near death experience that she overcame by the grace of God, that she would find some humbleness and humility. I hope she changes the way she communicates with others especially Jeannie.
HiMyNameIsHeaven ahe doesn't aeem to give people chances or have much hope in them. I have a friend who I admitted to being jealous of and she admitted that's jealous of me 2 for different reasons. We cried and talked about it, encouraged each other about our individual insecurities, felt better about ourselves and move forward. These are things that happen without friends having to hate each other or mean each other harm. Tamar seem to be so cinical and not having it. She needs to pull up and have some of that amazing human character like Jeannie, Adrienne and Tamera.

Pay attention to people's facial expression or body language when you come around or when you talk to them. Like Tamera said, jealousy cam be sensed because it is a strong emotion. So don't ignore intuition or vibes you may get.

A part of me feels like the friend Adrienne was referring to was Kiely Williams from her 3LW / Cheetah Girls days. They had been close friends since they were kids and when you think about it 3LW was quite a while ago so the timing fits. On top of that, Kiely didn't have the best reputation and was rumored to have really nasty ways about her.Trouble always seemed to ensue wherever she was. She was the catalyst behind why Naturi Naughton got kicked out the group (the dark skinned discrimination / KFC brawl) and she also ran Raven Symone away from doing the third Cheetah Girls movie because according to Raven, "a girl in the group had territorial issues". Which I happen to really believe because, in all honesty, Raven was the center of the group and Kiely's handlers (her management) was always pushing for her to be the lead since 3LW so I can see her being threatened by Raven's notoriety. In addition to that, Adrienne made a comment a while back during one of the chats stating that she had a group member who would constantly make remarks about her having "chicken legs" which I'd bet was Kiely. I dont know for sure but everything seems to fit. Adrienne is still cool with both Raven and Naturi today and Kiely only speaks to Sabrina Bryan from the group, so....
OMG I just wrote about this a couple minutes ago and that was the first person that popped up in my head! Her and Raven seem cool , I thought it could have been Sabrina Bryan from the cheetah girls but that wasn't necessarily a childhood friend. So I'm thinking its Kiely and Kiely herself did say she doesn't talk to Adrienne or Raven at all and only speaks to Sabrina. I also heard that rumor about the cheetah girls arguing but it was never officially confirmed. Raven said she was doing college road trip at the time and was also working on her solo career as an artists. I doubt she could have flown back filming in India and then the cheetah girls.

Jealousy is an uncontrollable emotion. We all get jealous without even thinking about it, and this stems mostly from someone having something, or excelling at something more than you do. It's not a bad thing to feel that type of jealousy because you admire that the person has what they have, but you also want the same thing for yourself. Most people who feel that way would not do anything negative towards someone because their jealousy doesn't stem from hatered. I think the jealousy Tamar is thinking about is when your friend pours down drink on your dress because it's better than their dress. That's middle school jealousy and there are people who do have that jealousy. But it's not the same for everybody.

I've been best friends with my friend for 14 years. We've both been envious of the other at one point or another. But never to the point where it drew a wedge between us. My friend and I both were trying for a baby at the same time. I'm currently 5 months pregnant and she's having complications. At first, my great news was a blow to her and it took her a little while to fully come around and be genuinely happy for me. I had compassion for her, because I could only imagine how she may have felt. All is well now, I'm doing well in my life and so is she. We support one another, that's what friends should do.

I can easily be jealous or envious, and it happend twice that my feelings toward them becomes a bit negative. However it doesn't last long, because once we talk or text, even for like 1 minute, I just realise how stupid I am lol And when I'm jealous, it's more like I'm angry at myself for not doing better, I don't resent them for their sucess. And I'm the type to express my jealousy at loud too.
Jeannie truly has a great heart. I agree with her, sometimes when people are going through hardships, they are focused on their problems, and it can be hard for them to be truly happy especially for others. However, It does become a problem though when someone is consistently jealous or envious.
see, i agree with jeannie because i have friends that can be self-centered and envious that i've been friends with FORever but instead of doing what tamar says and just cutting them loose after calling them a hater, i look and see what are they going through in life at the moment and what environment were they raised in and how has that affected them because they genuinely have the potential to be great people and do awesome things and i truly believe in my heart that they just need someone to help them see the light in themselves and WANT to be that better person. so i agree with jeannie and while that type of friendship may seem like a full-time job to some people, it can be so satisfying when you do begin to see the change in that person and see them want to do things greater than what they are currently doing and to actually see them appreciate their gifts instead of focusing on their downfalls and blemishes.
It was terribly rude of Tamar at the end to minimize Jeannies way of dealing with a jealous friend. That's HER way. She didn't agree AND cut her off. Disagreeing -fine. Cutting her off in mid-sentence and ending the discussion, (which is what it looked like before the clip ended) is so wrong. I don't know how that kind of thing was tolerated by all involved :(

Tamar stop ebbing so rude to Jeanie! I love u so much but I just feel so bad for her. Jeanie did absolutely nothing wrong and you kept on acting very immature by interrupting her and talking over her. How rude...
If you realize that is her personality and she is different that's what the produces wanted to see 5 different talented out spoken women. However the girls have rehearsals about the topics and questions so they know what all of them are going to say and it's not like she was doing it on purpose all of the ladies interrupt each other all the time…so it wasn't like it was in purpose and everyone was speaking at the same time at one point so you can't just down talk Tamar
+jayeneye that's true but I think she does it because Jeanie is that outspoken person but don't want to be that person when Tamar is around Tamar has always been the outspoken person on the panel
I had a best friend from the 7th grade (out of HS 8 years now). When she needed a shoulder to cry or a listening ear I was there. I could write her biography from how much I know about her. When things were going well I was there as one of her cheerleaders; I never once envied her. I'm a pretty calm person and I avoid drama like the plague, so admittedly there wasn't much for me to stress about. But, when things did happen I was never able to fully express myself because the moment became about her and something "similar" that happened. All of my other friends constantly asked me why I hung out with her and I defended our friendship. This summer past I was visiting with all of my friends from high school her included. I constantly felt a tension within me whenever I was around her, but didn't feel it when I was with the others. She came to my home and made sly remarks, masking them as jokes. Something in me was telling me that this was off so I discussed it with my Mom and other friends and they all said "LET HER GO!" Yes, I do miss her on occasion, but then I remember that soul sucking feeling and I move on. Jeannie it's a wonderful thought to want to help a friend, but it's not all that realistic.
I get where Jeanie is coming from like if you know your friend is going thru something or as serious issues/insecurities in an area that you're prospering in.. it would be natural for them to feel a type way. like they're happy for you but you can tell they're kinda sad about it too
