The song is goofy, those are nostalgia googles talking. There’s plenty of great 80’s songs, this ain’t one, it’s every bad cliché of the 80’s that killed this style toward the end of the 80’s/beginning of the 90’s. No wonder my generation (Gen X) rejected cornball stuff like this with a passion!
