Welcome to the Beautiful-Electronics-Blog, BEB.
Free teardown videos and education. No ads if you are a subscriber and watchin' within 48 hours after video has been released.
In this episode I will talk about amplifier technologies. You will see EL34 tubes from Electro Harmonix, 6SJ7 (6SJ7ST RCA), 6SN7 (6SN7EH Gold). And I will show you the beautiful JH-50 amplifier from inside of it aswell. Hope you enjoy it.
To all my german viewers: Did you like the easter egg in german language?
Jean Hiraga hat wirklich tolle Röhrenverstärker gebaut. Das Schaltungsdesign und der Klang sind überragend.
Please note: This is not an advertising. This amplifier is not for sale. Please do not ask.
LOL: "Use a transistor, go to jail" famous quote by upscale audio.

...this video drives you towards becoming an audiophile... great introduction to the world of amps and I was not aware of the work of hiraga...now I need to do something with tube amps myself....

Hi Clemens. Fun fact: I was once the largest second-hand hifi online seller in Austria. I am addicted to pure audio since a teenager.

my interests changed over the years. I was always fascinated by electronic teardowns since the age of 8. That's what I'm doing nowadays. But I'm still selling high end equipment now and then. Not focused on hifi anymore.

I had one wish i never sold it but it had to be repaired a few times.... a truly fantastic sound but was never built to be used in the UK with the higher mains voltage

6SJ7 metal; or GT ...or 5693 red base....................these tubes may still be good !!! 6SN7 .........GT/GTA/GTB ......................;best with matched sections .............RCA/SYLVANIA or new production The original ones may also still be good ! EL34 ( matched pairs ) ......................nos is rare and very expensive.................new production you have the choice...... Don't forget to bias the output tubes.............and correct after burn in ..................

@@frankgeeraerts6243 Thanks. The sound comes out of only one channel so I think it needs to be fixed. Is it worth fixing ?

@@npdvvecchi7181 As long as the transformers are OK , this amplifier is worth fixing !!!!!

@@frankgeeraerts6243 Thanks for this. Is this kind of work expensive ? Approx idea ?

@@npdvvecchi7181 Normaly not as long as there are no expensive parts involved .....One channel works , that's reassuring ....be sure the OPT is allright ! Check voltages ......you have one good channel as a reference, tube may be faulty , resistor or a capacitor .......... Check for filaments glowing up on all tubes. Check fuses.........I think most likely one resistor may have burned out ..check. Check tubes .......If you're not customed to work with high voltages .........don't take any risk and look out for a good technician...
