I don't think it's ruined. It would be a lot worse if that great synth was replaced with generic modern bass.

Do you hear yourself? "Ruined a great tune!!!!!!!"... 1 - This is YOUR opinion, and yes you are entitled to it. But let us analyse the comment for a moment shall we? 2 - "Ruined"? As has been mentioned, if this guy had mixed in a generic D&B beat/heavy bass, or some other modern/latest 'in' beat, yes, I would say it would be "Ruined". If too, he had mixed in some crazy beepy, boppy, zappy autotuned crap that seems often used in today's 'Acceptable' form of what a majority of society call, cough cough, 'Great music', again, yes I would agree with you that it would be '"Ruined". But being a solid early era electronic music fan (Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, JMJ, Mark Shreeve, Vangelis, Mike Oldfield, Kraftwerk, and many others, even enjoying many other artists through the years like Madis, Worakls, N'To, Zero 7, Chicane, Above & Beyond,, Air, Blank & Jones, Groove Armada, Lemon Jelly, Masters & Nickson, and many, many, many more besides, AND having built up the 'Audiophile' like hardware to listen, sorry, enjoy such beautiful pieces as Equinoxe 5 (amongst the rest on this album). This RU-vidr has ONLY taken elements that WERE in the original version, and crafted a way to intermix them into a 'new version'. Is it perfect. Quite honestly speaking, I would have to say it IS good, not perfect, BUT, it's STILL well put together. Is it good? And compared to a lot of tripe offered up on RU-vid as 'modernised', 'remixed', 'reworked' versions of classics, then yes, hell yes, I'd rank it up there as indeed a good rendition. Which leads me nicely onto.. 3 - "Ruined a great tune!!!!!!!" "Tune"? Eq5... a Tune? Err no. You sound like the blithering idiots that originally reviewed Oxygene and Equinoxe when they first came out back in the 70's. They, 'Music Critics' working for the likes of 'Melody Maker', 'NME', all poopoo'd these albums... (Wikipedia JMJ Oxygene album & Equinoxe album - Under "Critical Review").. Question is, where are those idiots now? What are they famous for? What legacy have they/will they leave behind? Now ask the same of JMJ? Regarding Equinoxe (any of the tracks), or Oxygene (again, any), as mere "Tunes", is like saying that your skills with the English vocabulary is, 'acceptable'. 😒
