Jean reads a short story from one of his book "Wanda Hickey's Night of golden Memories and other Disasters." This is the epic tale of two schoolyard rivals and their battling tops. The bully of Warren G. Harding Elementary , Scut Farkus has been beating up kids with his fists and beating every spinning top that dares to oppose his.
Shep decides that it is time to stand up to him....

"Farkas" is Hungarian for _wolf._ In the _Christmas Story_ movie, whenever Farkus makes an appearance, the Wolf's theme plays from Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf."

The way he wrote and narrates the part where Ralphie finds the top he needs to take on Farkus, like he's found Excalibur or something... And I dont say that lightly, because the way the showdown ends feels like something out of Arthurian myth or something.

Growing up, I always thought it was Scott. What on earth could "scut" be short for? I'm not familiar with the archaic names of the late 19th century. I only know a few of em.
