There are historians now saying that she might have originated in Montreal when Cuthbert grant sr was there..this DNA stuff these days can definitely help people however it can also invalidate certain claims.. those who proclaim to be RR might not be Rr after all ..there is actually more families who originated from ontario like the McLeod's that are now recognized as RR Metis it seems to be coming out more these days especially with DNA testing and kinship ties 🤷
