Just beautiful. Nelson and Jeanette`s voices blend together as magically on live radio as they did on film and in their RCA recordings. Thnak You for sharing with Us. Lorraine
thank you thank you so for sharing this couple from heaven. Their story is so so sad. Their lives together should have been as great as the love they shared and the wonderful music they shared. I haven't been able to stop crying for them. Their love and music rise above all else on earth. They are so so sweet. thank you so for sharing this with all of us. love, Sharon Rose Goldberg Mercado
So great to hear again! I had a reel to reel tape of this broadcast, (which I gotten from a Jeanette fan back in the early 1960's). Alas, my reel-to-reel machine finally died after many years of service so I couldn't play my JMD/NE tapes. Jeanette and Nelson were THE BEST! Thanks for sharing these golden memories on YOU TUBE!
One wonders how many of a younger generation are not even aware of how magnificent these films are. MGM lavished all it's resources on them and as far as scripts and plots were much stronger than the incomparable Fred Astaire/Ginger Rogers teaming (whose plots were paper thin), it's time these films are rediscovered... "Maytime" is nothing short of a masterpiece. Michael - South Africa
Love this, so wonderful to hear them together, so much more emotion than the films in their voices.Great voices, there will never be their like. They were meant to be together. Bless them.
Thanks for your comment their 1957 album had some lovely songs on it very polished this was a decade earlier and is delightful thanks for your comment I dont think 2 people were more suited for each other. Great voices from a golden age.
