Jeep Comanche restoration and OM617 swap 

Those om617’s are bullet proof. I got rid of that mechanical pump and went with fuel check valve, less headaches.

A Detroit 353 would be better. It bolts right up to an Alison automatic.

@@Carla-tz7qwNah. drive one of these high revving turbo diesels in a passenger car and you wouldn't go back to the three banger... And the later MBZ with this motor have some incredible mechanical transmissions and LSD

It was in good shape and I wasn’t keeping it, I did put bucket seats in the 76 J10 I restored and that was a good move.

15 inch and lifted 4 inches.

Couldn’t find any for the MJ that weren’t super expensive so I got the XJ ones and modified them. They are from Amazon for like $80

@@thewolfsden4650 Still, they look pretty good. I've got a Land Rover Discovery and all the ones I've seen are ridiculously expensive. Wonder if they might fit? Oh yeah, did you make your own adapter for the swap, or did you buy it somewhere?

The original cable worked it was just a little long as the Mercedes linkage was in a different location.

Last I checked before I got rid of it was high 20’s low 30’s

30 and 35 in the rear, with chromoly axles and 4:88 gears with lockers front and rear. It sits on 32’s so it wasn’t a rush to swap bigger axles
