This are super cool looking Jeeps, I got one of those almost three years ago and it's awesome, even though I have only driven it on highways and the city, it's still a cool Jeep to drive.
@dkia09 There were 2 Commanders that had QD1, if you go back to the first video and look at the part were we do the steep climb at about 6:50 you can see the difference, the first two that went up had QD1 and the last two had QD2. The white one is mine and it's a 3.7L V6 with QD1 and it's very capable of being off road. The dark brown Commander was one similar to mine. Even at stock height (the dark brown one) it's still very off road capable. These Jeeps are awesome!
i have the 3.7L Grand Cherokee QT1 and ive done some fairly rough mudding in it. Never been stuck. i got the Firestone destination a/t's. about to get the 2" rough country lift. But i never go out with out a backup vehicle to help out in case i do. went out with an xterra with 4 low watched him get stuck in what my QT1 went threw. had to pull him out haha. Qt1 is def a very capable 4x4 system. just never go too crazy with it. especially in the sand.
@lolnumpty Agreed. I was talking about the gas V6. Honestly I wish diesel was an option on every car sold, especially Jeeps. Jeep/Dodge USA...are you listening?!? Haha
Dude...the HEMI is faster, we all know that. But the 3.0 V6 diesel is a power house of torque, the HEMI cannot compete when it comes to torque with the V6 diesel. Diesels always have more pulling power than gas.
Actually, you guys bashing on the hemi commander are quite wrong. The hemi hp is well over 100 more than your 3.0 diesel. The torque is about the same numbers depending on which year of the hemi production for the commander. Late models were far superior to that diesel version.
DIESEL OR GAS, THE COMMANDER IS A GREAT MACHINE TO DRIVE, AND IT IS FANTASTIC TO PLAY WITH IN MUD, ROCKS OR WHAT HAVE YOU. CHECK OUT JEEP COMANDER AT LA PATIÑA TO SEE WHAT I TELL YOU.
Please know what you're talking about before commenting. Diesel engines produce more torque than petrol engines and at much lower revs, which is why diesel is superior to petrol off road. Sure the HEMI is faster, but only by 2 seconds when its a 0-60 race. Off roading isnt about speed! Diesel is the stronger engine when it comes down to it. Speed doesnt mean strength, do trucks go fast? no, but they are stronger than things that go much faster. Torque is STRENGTH! and is needed off road.
