The Jeep SRT has a check engine light! Heres why and what you can do about it. The code is a P0456 for EVAP system small leak. I replaced the EISM to resolve the issue!
A fantastic veiw my friend, we appreciate your efforts and excellent way you show it in your quality content, I bough my SRT jeep because this channel, It actually sold me on getting one( you did bro ), and i love it , I agree ,i also like the new C8 & Mopar is coming out with some cool stuff as of late, A big congratulations on the new job Josh! ,We are happy for you bud, now with that off your mind you can play now lol, be safe , L&P, Sean&family Cheers 🍻
I am thinking about getting and SRT and I appreciate any video talking about maintenance and how to take care of the engine. I am not a car guy but looking to learn. Thanks!
Keep up the great content Josh, yourself and Ron (EastCoastJeepSRT) inspired me to get a SRT in the UK! Loving it so far! Feel free to check out the latest video to cast your eye over it!
Mine had the same issue, mine was the purge valve. I changed both sensors. The canister one by the gas tank and the one on top of the engine. Both under $50
So I just saw the newest video. I had the same issue, changed the canister and that didn’t do the trick so I changed the purge valve shortly afterwards which then cleared the code. On my 5.7 they sold it in 2 configurations. One being with and one without the tubing pre attached to the sensor. Get the one with it pre attached, it’s a wayyy easier install. The leak got so bad the truck wasn’t holding a steady idle in park. So try to get it swapped quick. Good luck stay safe
My concern is it’s a factory tune.. I know it’s a small BS code most of the time. Or really difficult to diagnose considering it’s not related to drivability. Just hope it stays off until I figure out what I want to do
Good luck with the new job. Why not consider a challenger hellcat. I'm sure you could get a lightly used one in your price range since it would be around the cost of a regular new jeep srt cost (probably less). Would be a lot better than a Toyota/BMW... IMO
I’m looking into options.. employment is my first priority at the moment. Just getting the bug to modify the Jeep and I know there’s better platforms to do that with (less miles)
hey there thanks for your content which made about jeep srt I really like it, woooow, so I have to ask you after many many experience with your jeep srt did you recommend to someone to buy one or not?
change the ESIM Evaporative System Integrity Module always takes a shit, you will most of the time not see a leak. sometimes the esim gets stuck. sometimes the purge valves leak but generally from a chrysler tech stand point i change the esim more often than not and vehicles do not return. its a cheap part and an easy fix.
Suspect my 18 Summit has the same Evap code. Trying to find the self diagnostic tool tho on the instrument cluster but no luck, is it an option no longer available or only available with that year?
Hey bro! Have the same code on mine and i fix it it, was one of the lines that it broke, at the moment i know which lines it can be the problem, maybe i can help you sendin you some pictures. But i can’t send you pictures via youtube? ..nice video btw !
I am relieved it was only a small cosmetic issue, Josh as a mechanic and SRT owner - what is your take on the rather notorious lifters 6.4 Hemi issue, have you checked your lifters, obviously your SRT does not have any issues, but would you recommend replacing the lifters - would that have any preventative effect, how much would it cost in a shop ? Any thoughts on the HEMI lifters I would greatly I appreciate.
I just do oil changes with the OEM SRT oil and hope for the best. I am getting a lifter tick but I’m trying to put it off until I get a Trackhawk. You can do a camshaft, lifters and push rods to prevent it but that’s probably a $3500 upgrade with labor. I also have an extended warranty until 120k miles
Hey josh ...I’m looking into buying a used 2012-2015 (because of my budget) jeep srt. Is there any years you’d recommend over the other? And also, is there a certain mileage that you’d say dont buy if it’s this mileage? If that makes any sense lol
I got a jeep srt8 2012 but the check light just came on and I noticed my oil pressure is at 668 is that the problem I took it of cleaned it but still check light is on
Mine just came on, it's a 2014 Diesel and I'm so worried because I literally just got it off a dealership on Friday it has a 30 day warranty but I'm praying it's nothing serious
@@JoshShare I know kinda after the fact but my srt engine light came on..it is a sm leak in the hose to the purge valve assembly (dealer quote is ridiculous to say the least). any idea how i can reset the engine light?
My email is woogey89@outlook.com if you would like to email me back that would be awesome sir thank you or answer on here I dunno how this works if it well notify me when u respond or not haha
Josh Share yeah I drove it like that for 6 months... kept clearing the codes but they kept coming back... eventually I gave in and let the dealer fix it since it was pretty cheap
