When I bought my #bestop #trektop NX about 3 years ago, I wish I'd found a video that honestly described how much of s SEVERE PITA it is to install on the first install. I don't regret buying the top, in fact I love it, but man, the first install was a real bear. So this video is intended to show folks the tricks I've learned after owning this top for a few years. You can also see how the top has re-shaped itself over the years! Pretty dramatic!

Wish I would have looked for your video yesterday, before I put my new NX top on. The back window was a PITA but I finally got it zipped up after loosening up the sides. There are a few micro tears in the rear window, where the stitching is. Going to keep an eye on them to see if they get worse.

The split i put in my rear window, at the zipper, when i installed mine, is like a 1"x.5" gap now. Doesnt leak. Im guessing I lucked out because its up at the top of the window, where the overhang from the top and side window protect it. Good luck with the new top!

Perfect video dude, I was one of the folks over at LJNation asking about it. I have a rack that would make flipping up the sunrider an extreme PITA, so your trick with pulling it up on the cage is perfect. Message me over on LJNation if you want to get rid of that rear window.

Thanks for watching! I’m glad You could the video useful. I’m hanging on to the spare window for when mine finally tears worse or gets damaged. I was really surprised to see how much it had stretched though! Why doesn’t bestop make them a little wider? I get that they want them right but wow!

I know! Like one extra inch across the back window would make life so much freaking easier!

I’m sure they had their reasons but man... I wish I knew them. Sure feels like someone messed up the measurement and they don’t want to fix it. :p

I’m still running the factory soft top on my 17 two door JK. It isn’t garaged, so I’m curious how long it will last. So far I’m impressed on how water tight and quiet it is. The Bestop NX was one I have been looking at, when the time comes for a replacement.

Gray Beard they hold up surprisingly well. A friend of mine has a 13 with the premium soft top and it’s held up very well. Not garage kept either. I love bestops products. I had a supertop on my yj thing was probably 12 years old when I sold the Jeep and still holding up. Some damage here and there but I abused it!

So what do you guys think? Did having that surider open do anything for me? I dont think it did, and thinking about it, i still don't think it would.
