Jeep patriot/Jeep compass code U 0121 abs 4x4 light Possible repair

So in this video I had a code U 0121 Along with various Other codes all of them to chaining to the ABS module with the exception of the airbag light that I had on which had nothing to do with what I’m fixing in this video. Basically I had no power going to my ABS module. Pin number 32 on my ABS module plug did not have positive Power. If you do not have a power probe you can use a test light. I’m not sure how many people will understand exactly what I’m getting at but if you watch the video all the way through it may give you a good sense of Direction. @The Clay Way. Clay, just thought I'd post what I did to finally keep both the brake light from coming on and off while I drive PLUS, the 4WD! Warning light that was coming on right around 1.0-1.2 miles after every start. The fix I found to those two issues was the grounding pigtail that bolts on the the passenger side of the engine compartment along side across from the belt. There were about 5 of the 8 wires that weren't making a connection or just barely making a connection. Pulled the pigtail out of the connector, cleaned off all the wires, cleaned off the connector, crimped everything back to a good fit, then taped everything up. It might not be a permanent fix but now I can use the 4WD without that ground tripping the 4WD!.... Thanks for all your video's that you are posting for the Patriots & Compass lines. As for the relay box over on the lower left side of the vehicle, someone had already removed a relay and wired it up directly. I am going to take apart the poor wrap job, then check out what was done and then re-wrap everything so it's not an issue. I test drove the Patriot and it seems to be running good. Hi, Clay. That was a very insightful video. Thank you. 🤙 I've got a 2015 Compass doing similar hijinks. Gas gauge doesn't work. Followed by the battery light, then the ABS, Traction Control, AirBags, and so on. Dealership said it passed all tests in their service department before we took ownership. I'm sure it did just PASS right on by the service department. Our contact there had the audacity to tell my wife that she should have married a more mechanically inclined man after we asked for help. I'm going to poke around at the wiring tomorrow. I'm going to fix what they cannot. Finally I'm going to drive back there and demand a bended knee apology. 🤣 Thanks again! 🤜🔥🤛 By the way. You've got a lifelong follower in me. Can't wait to check out some more of your videos. Keep up the great work!

1:35 DONT DO THIS (TOUCH -NEG and +POS) ON NEWER VEHICLES, THEY HAVE AND AUXILIARY BATTERY HIDDEN SOMEWHERE. MAKE SURE TO CHE IF YOU VEHICLE HAS AND EXTRA LAWN MOWER LIKE BATERY SOME WHERE. DONT ASK HOW I KNOW.

So fixing the ABS wire made all the instrument lights go off? I have same issue except my Jeep wants to rev up high ( 3000 ) RPMs too. Getting multiple Ucodes and same Ucodes and Pcodes duplicating. TPIM is clean as well as the connectors. Thanks!

wish you were closer,,,,wv......i have a 2010 jeep patriot,,,with abs,throttle,engine,gas cap,4 wheel drive lights on dash.

Well at least you could look for the locations I talk about and then point them out to the mechanic when you take it there and it will make his job simpler and will save you some money

My jeep patroit has the exact same issue, a "mechanic" i take broken vehicles to i cant fix told me I needed a new abs module and tipm. I followed your directions for testing and repairing..BAM!! That fixed it!

The Clay Way EXACT same problem....pulled on the red/black wire and it broke off about right where it met the sheathing by the module....Thanks

I have a 2011 Jeep Patriot I replaced all 4 hubs and did all 4 speed sensors and my abs and traction control light is still on along with the check engine light and parking brake light the speedometer stays at 0 and the oil light flickers on every so often I disconnected the battery but the lights is still on replaced all the fuses except the relay switches it’s driving me nuts trying to get it going so my daughter can drive it again

Hey, with the power probe 3 you need to check each side of the fuse. Probing one side of the fuse will not tell you if the fuse is blown. Sure you already know this but your video suggest that you only have to check one side.

Well I didn’t never realize that it sounded that way but you definitely have to check both sides of the fuse one side would have power in the other side would have ground if there’s actually something connected to the circuit

Thank you for posting this video. My 2009 Patriot has all ABS,ESP,BAS lights on. Scanned and got code C2116 (ABS pump motor supply low voltage). Can you please post pictures of your ABS schematics. I'm trying to fix my ABS problems but I don't have schematics. Thank you for any help you can give!
