Jeep SRT X Pipe, Resonators, stock mufflers...No more DRONE from Exhaust

Sounds slightly louder than stock at idle and much louder than stock at full throttle. Stock mufflers flow really well, they are straight through, which many don't realize, including myself until I talked to my performance exhaust shop. The stainless works mufflers I had on were baffled, and created a lot of drone at 1200 to 2000 rpm and back pressure. Also lost 0.5 off my 0-60...4.5 vs. 4.0 at 1/4 tank, 32 degrees F. Haven't tested 0-60 with this set up but it feels stronger seat of the pants. When temps drop I'll test. Enjoy, hopefully if your aggravated with drone on aftermarket set ups this will help you decide. Video doesn't do exhaust note justice...it deeper and louder in person.

Jeep SRT8’s are opposite of every other car. The units by your tailpipe are your resonators. (Any other car those are mufflers) The mufflers are what you replaced in the middle of your system, with more resonators. So you have (4) resonators which would yes have zero drone.

vdubjetta02 Vdub- how would I do this same mod to my Hemi 2019 JGC (non-SRT)? If you have part #s and/or whatever info pertaining to where and what to get, I’d appreciate it. Is the flow through design he was talking about unique to only SRT-style factory mufflers? And do you think he went with Vibrant resonators here in this setup?

Do you do the stainless work longtube headers and catback or just catback? Im doing the same thing this morning install my oem mufflers back in but leaving the x pipe and dynomax inplace. Also uo front i have 2 vibrant 1142 where your 2 longer mufflers are install(behind the cats).

I traded jeep in 3 years ago...suitcase replaced with stainless works x pipe, stainless works 3 inch exhaust with stock mufflers, no headers...sounded great

The things in the back are resonators. What you replaced with an xpipe was the actual muffler.

In the car world the things at the back is called mufflers, the thing in the middle is a resonator, but you can call it anything you want

Awesome! Liked and subbed! Enough of my drone too, I'm thinking to have 2 dynomax infront of my suitcase delete (replaced with straight pipe) and have stock rears like you , do you think that'll drone ?

Great video, just what I’m looking for. So let me get this straight- You swapped your mid muffler for a X - pipe and kept your rear resonators ?

Sorry just seeing this, yes. Keep in mind it has 3 inch pipe from CATS back also. Stock pipe would work too. Good luck!

That inside is definitely much closer to stock than rear deleted (I have cutouts after suitcase so essentially rear delete when open)

To be honest, I recently removed them...the 2 small none stock resonators as part of troubleshooting a rattling sound. They were not the cause but removing them didnt change the tone of the exhaust AT ALL. Still sounds the same...GREAT. Dont waste your money...just remove the suitcase and keep stock mufflers! Oh and still no drone.
