Great video , thanks my Offroad mechanic suggested JKS for drag link only. I watched your video and now I know why

Great video. Glad I found this channel. I just purchased a JKS Jspec 3.5" lift kit with JKS Front Adjustable Track Bar. Many many many questions for you :D

Steve Vanlandingham Thanks so much for watching! Great choice on lift! I run the same kit and have been super happy with it. JKS Mfg. is an awesome company and makes great products for Jeep. Are you installing the lift yourself? It is not too difficult, with just some basic tools you can have it done in half a day. Any questions, just let me know. I have the rest of the control arms ready to be installed next.

@@JKsouthwest yes I am installing it myself. Not sure when I am doing it yet but I have talked with JKS a lot and they make a great product. I cannot wait to finally get my Jeep lifted. Ill let you know how it goes. Im sure Ill have questions before I start the install.

Steve Vanlandingham The folks at JKS are super helpful. We have run trails with them a couple of times at different events and they are good people. Let me know how it goes with your install.

Great timing on this video! I was just looking at the exact same upgrades for my Jeep. I have a 2" lift along with the JKS track bar and swaybar disco's. I was thinking I could reduce bump steer and improve roll center as you said. However, when looking things over I noticed that the bracket JKS provides raises the track bar close to the bottom of the frame; necessitating the use of the larger bumpstops. I did not want to lose all of my uptravel by adding bigger bumpstops. Also, upon inspection of my vehicle; my drag link and track bar are at the same angle, but not level (~ 10*). Bumpsteer is not really that bad for me, so I decided to not go with the drag link flip kit. I think that since I only have a 2" lift, it is not something that would really help me out in my particular case. I still plan to upgrade my tie rod and ball joints soon; I am going to truss my front axle, so I will replace and refresh the steering then. Did you notice an improvement in vehicle handling after your install? Thank for the video!

Thanks so much for watching! The flip kit is usually not needed until lifting 3.5" or more, so in your case I don't know if you would benefit from installing one. You do give up a slight bit upward travel with a flip kit, but it's really not much. Most 4" lifts require about 3 inches of bumpstop anyway. What size tires are you running? Having your drag link and track bar parallel with each other is a really good start, it's even better getting them flatter or more parallel with the ground, if that makes sense. My steering feels great, it is very firm and responsive, and everything tracks straight. After this video I also upgraded my ball joints and installed some more front axle reinforcement.

@@JKsouthwest I am running 315's. / 35's; I have Poison Spyder fenders so I can utilize all of the factory up travel without any rubbing. I don't have any plans to run bigger tires for quite some time. I am trying to keep a low c/g and keep the rig reasonably lightweight.

Great video👍👍 I have a frankenlift using his 3.5 coils, front and rear track bars but use rancho control arms rear and rancho geo correction brackets up front. Have both versions of rear track bar bracket...one is for use with non his coils(my 1st one) given 2nd(use WITH his coils) still doesn't fit correctly. And with adjustable rear...track bar wouldn't adjust small enough to fit bracket. Idk...its a mystery. Lol. I do like the ride of my jks coils tho👍👍

The trackbar should at least go as short as stock. With my brackets front and rear, I am basically running the stock length. I have been very happy with the ride of the JKS dual rate coils as well!

Looks like you lost a bit of tuck with that big bump stop.
@JKsouthwest
@JKsouthwest 4 года назад
Lost a bit, the high steer kit requires a 3" bumpstop for clearance, But I am planning on switching to 37's so the bumpstop will help keep the tires out of the fenders as well.

Jeeping with Jenn & John I have been following you woes with axle shafts. I am still on the fence between 35/37s for some of those same reasons. Will keep modding in preparation and see what I decide.
@jlopes68
@jlopes68 4 года назад
@@JKsouthwest it comes with the trails we run. The one Jenn broke was almost 10 years old. Sadly that manufacturer went out of business so no warranty. But got a good run out of it. Jenn knows more about the JK than i do and says if you are going 37's you better plan on new one ton axles too.

How much of a difference did you feel with this?
@JKsouthwest
@JKsouthwest 4 года назад
To be honest, I really didn't notice much difference in the ride as I wasn't having any bump steer issues with my Jeep. But, I still think it was a worthy investment. It does takes a lot of stress off the steering box, it reinforces the weak track bar mounting location at the axle, and increases my tie rod strength. It also raised my steering stabilizer from increasing clearance some. Thanks so much for watching!

Don't buy any Currie steering. It doesn't hold up and Currie won't stand behind it. JKS is a top company and will stand behind their stuff. If you need HD steering, buy Fusion 4x4 aluminum stuff. It lasts and Fusion will back their stuff.
