You matched the side lines perfectly. It seems the Jeep should have been built that way from the start. Great job! You can put enormous tires under your Jeep.
Nice rig, man. Did your CAI gain any power for your 2.5? I have a 4.0 throttle body and hi-flow exhaust, but the only real difference is the way it sounds. A power chip didn't do squat, either (use the term "power" very loosely). Before I sink any more $ into nickel/dime crap, I should probably consider a 5.0 swap.
The jeep isn't mine, it belonged to a friend. So, I can't really tell you if the CAI made any difference or not. But, I do have extensive experience with this kind of thing. An open air element like this really isn't a cold air intake; it's taking hot air from directly under the hood and simply doesn't make any difference on a small displacement engine like the 2.5. Things like programmers and exhaust on a small naturally aspirated 4 cylinder simply can't make that much of a difference. Small percentages, sure. But a 5% gain on a 120hp motor is only 6hp; barely noticeable (if at all) and simply not worth the $$, IMO. A person is better off saving up for a REAL power adder (cam, heads, forced induction, etc.) Or, even better, an engine swap.
