51 years ago I had a throwout bearing on my CJ3A. I was 16 years old. I fixed it. I love those Go Devil engine. Should of kept my Willys, really miss it.
My USMC dad (‘64-67) says those old jeeps can go anywhere and do anything. They are great. Wish Jeep still made these simple fundamental vehicles as a budget 4 wheel vehicle. Great competitor for modern ATVs because they are road legal
love seeing these old guys, and jeeps doing what they were made for , I had one in the '80's , let it go for some reason likely to raise the kids but,,, its time for another one maybe
I also love the late 60- early 70,s models broncos . I am a ford man with trucks every scout i seen for sale i bought even just for parts.I totaly rebuilt a 1962 5 years ago, i have a really nice 1968 scout that been keept in a heated garage for over 30 years. It needs motor work v8, i need to get busy im 63 years old im starting to think i may never get it done. 40 years ago i used to mushroom hunt those hills up there all around manistee national forest, im from Indiana.@@fastdadgarage-northsouthch4418
Looks like a blast! Can't wait to get mine running. Finally getting back to work on it recently. Hopefully not too long. We love exploring the Manistee Nat'l forest!
I used to bring my '93 YJ on those Caberfae area trails when I lived up there. To think I went alone and without a cell phone!!! Well...I was a lot younger then. Just an awesome video. I just subscribed!
Great rides, thanks for taking is along. My daughter and I like to do the same but on tamer trails. My old Envoy is not quite as capable as you CJs. Huron Manistee Nat Forest has some beautiful trails.
The engine oven is one of my fave parts of old cars hahaha. I used to put breakfast burritos in my engine compartment on the way to university. The cheese was perfectly melted when I arrived
I tried to find the actual count, no info. I’m guessing your low…lol. The trails were fun, finding the little spots that are challenging is the best part
I have 6 cj5s. On throw out bearings be carefull. Got one once that was bad right out of the box. Had to remove it the same week I put it in. They can be damaged during manufacture.
True, we only had high temps that first day running hard on pavement. The rest of the trip didn’t seem to have any problems. But worth looking for or fabricating one. Thanks
Also, I usually leave a hot engine running so it can circulate the coolant and cool off better. If you shut it off, it will allow hotspots to happen and possibly crack the head of block. The old IH diesel tractors were famous for doing this if they were stalled while hot, they would crack a head faster than you could restart it.
Hows that girl running since rebuild ? Runnin many calls with your lil fire company this summer imagine it should get busy with heating season coming be safe !!!!
It runs great, just took it out yesterday. The Fire Department has been very slow lately but like you said heating season has started so things could change quickly.

I appreciate your comment, our Jeeps did get ORV stickers last year and will be getting them again this year. There was some question of weather we needed them or not on that trip.
