Jeep Wrangler suspension, 50 Bolt Torque Test by JK Land in Douglasville Georgia

If you are like me, you spend most of your time exploring and/or wheeling your Jeep in some random or remote terrain, only to come home and begin hearing new squeaks and creeks from your Jeep. For the longest time, I just bought into the theory of "it's just a jeep and that's what they do". At times, my Jeep was so squeaky, my daughter was embarrassed when I dropped her off at the roundabout for school. It sounded like I had just gotten married and pulling tin cans down the road.
During a recent off roading charity event by The Georgia Jeep Alliance, I stopped at the JK Land booth and spoke with a gentleman name Rob. Rob told me about their 50 Bolt Torque Test they do on the suspension. I had never done this before and thought it would be a good time to ease my mind on some things under the rig.
I spent the day at JK Land, torquing every nut and bolt on the suspension and finding several that had loosed up over time. Nothing "dangerously loose" but enough to cause a whole lot of racket.
After Micheal torqued everything down, my Jeep suspension is the quietest it has ever been and not to mention, my steering has tightened up as well, taking a lot of the "sloop" out of the wheel.
I would encourage EVERYONE, whether you have a lifted suspension or stock suspension to do this torque test on their rig periodically. I plan on having this check done at least once a year by JK Land.

Great video, very useful information. I definitely learned something. The night before old bucktown/cashes valley this past weekend. I actually did this to my Jeep. I even filmed it, uploaded it to my instagram, my RU-vid shorts page, everything. Yet, while watching your video I realized I didn’t think to check my driveshaft bolts. I should’ve thought of that but I didn’t. Before I ride again, I’m definitely gonna go check them. Great video!!! Very useful information for anyone.

Herd they charge 2hrs labor to torque check a 03 Expedition that’s never been checked 😂. It’s also a great way for them fellers to peek around and not upsale but advise parts and pieces that may need replaced soon or an eye kept on them. We do things like this in our semi truck shop and folks always take it as the ol jiffy lube upsale tactic and it’s honestly, for us it’s advise to keep in mind for maybe the next service maybe have it addressed. Our service’s are 20-50k mile increments.

I checked the torque on all my JLU suspension bolts/nuts when it was delivered new. I found at least 10 bolts not completely torqued, including one sides upper and lower ball joints. I paint marked everything.

Oh man. You found them off from the factory? WOW. I would’ve never thought to test the torque straight from the factory.

You are right Frank. JKLand does an excellent job and they back their work 100%. Even if they fix something and I have a concern afterwards, they immediately say “bring it back in” no questions asked. Most regular maintenance I do myself but anything deeper than that, i take it to them

@@RoadRashOffRoad That’s great info dude, I do my own work myself but there’s times I can’t get to it and would love to have someone I could trust to do the work for me and do it right the first time. I’m definitely going to be checking these guys out!! Thanks my friend!!!
